The 7th International Conference on Control and Computer Vision (ICCCV 2025) recently concluded in Wuhan. Over 200 experts and scholars from 17 countries gathered to discuss new theories and applications in control and computer vision. Yang Junqi, a student of grade 2022 from Data Science and Big Data Technology at the School of Computer and Software, had his paper “Research on Epilepsy Detection Method Based on Spatiotemporal Feature Fusion and LASSO Optimization” accepted and was invited to present an oral report at the conference.
The conference featured presentations by professors from universities like Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan University, and Virginia Tech. They engaged in in-depth discussions on cutting-edge technologies such as AI, robotic vision, 3D measurement, and intelligent inspection.
Yang Junqi's paper addresses the challenge of intelligent detection of epileptic pathological signals, proposing the TSL algorithm, which combines spatiotemporal feature fusion and LASSO optimization. By analyzing the high-dimensional spatiotemporal characteristics of EEG signals and optimizing machine learning models, the study achieved a breakthrough in accuracy and sensitivity on the CHB-MIT clinical dataset, offering an efficient and reliable AI solution for early epilepsy diagnosis and earning high praise from conference reviewers.
Yang Junqi's interest in “AI + medical technology” stems from his studies. “I built a solid foundation in core courses such as Data Mining, Algorithm Analysis and Design, Applied Statistics, Distributed Computing Frameworks, and Data Visualization,” Yang Junqi said. “During the thesis writing process, I am particularly grateful for the guidance from my teachers on thesis structure and method innovation.”
During his school years, Yang Junqi has won multiple awards in various competitions, including the National College Students Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, the National College Students AI Technology Knowledge Competition, and Mathematical Modeling Competitions. He has also received scholarships and honors such as the “Outstanding Student” award.
