On November 2nd to 3rd, the 2024 Academic Annual Conference of the Institute Research Branch of the Chinese Association of Higher Education, hosted by the Institute Research Branch of the Chinese Association of Higher Education and Hangzhou Normal University, was grandly held at Hangzhou Normal University. Leaders of the China Association of Higher Education, leaders of the Institutional Research Branch of the China Association of Higher Education, invited guests of the forum, and experts and scholars in the field of universities gathered together under the theme of "Empowering High Quality and Sustainable Development of Universities through Research in the Digital Age", to conduct in-depth discussions on topics such as strategic transformation and sustainable development of universities, new forms of governance of university departments and functional departments, talent cultivation and quality evaluation of universities, and high-quality development of applied universities. Professor Guo Quan, the President of our university, was invited to attend the conference and give a keynote speech at the sub forum on “High Quality Development of Applied Universities in the Digital Age”.

Guo Quan shared the school’s experience and achievements in cultivating applied talents under the title of Research and Practice of the First Class Applied Talent Training System in the Era of Digital Intelligence. He pointed out that Dalian Neusoft University of Information, with the concept of "Education Creates Students’ value", has built a school system that integrates industry and education and is application-oriented. It has creatively proposed and implemented the TOPCARES application-oriented talent training model throughout the school. In response to the changes in talent demand brought about by the development of new technologies, a comprehensive definition of the ability system for cultivating applied talents in the era of digital intelligence has been established, and the ability indicators have been decomposed and implemented in each course, achieving a “double closed loop” teaching operation mode at the professional and course levels. Based on provincial-level digital campus, provincial-level smart education demonstration school, and DNUI smart education platform, the school fully applies digital technology to empower the entire process and link of talent cultivation, and has achieved significant results in “management teaching learning evaluation” and other aspects, effectively improving the quality of applied talent cultivation.
