Five national awards! Our school achieved a historic high in the China International College Students’ Innovation Competition (2024)

Recently, the National Finals of the China International College Students’ Innovation Competition (2024) came to an end at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Our school’s teachers and students have worked hard and won five national awards, including two national silver awards. The number of national awards won has reached a new high in the school’s history in this competition. Our school is the only private university in the province that has been shortlisted for the on-site gold medal competition of the national competition. Among them, the industrial proposition competition is the first time that our school has been shortlisted for the gold medal competition.

The five award-winning teams from our school come from the School of Information and Business Management and the Higher Vocational and Technical College. The project is committed to solving 35 innovative technological frontiers such as “bottleneck” technologies. The research results cover areas such as satellite remote sensing, air pollution monitoring, population aging, and integrated digital health platforms, which can be applied to various scenarios such as oceanography, meteorology, military, agriculture, logistics, hospitals, and campuses. They have won multiple national and provincial competition awards, invention patents, and national academic journal papers, showcasing the educational practice achievements of our school's competition innovation integration and industry innovation integration.

The China International College Students’ Innovation Competition is the most prestigious youth competition with the highest project value, the largest number of participants, and the widest influence in the country. This year, the competition is hosted by the Ministry of Education and 12 other departments in conjunction with the Shanghai Municipal People's Government. A total of 5.14 million projects and 20.836 million people from 5, 406 schools from 153 countries and regions at home and abroad have registered to participate. Since the launch of this competition, the school has made careful arrangements, organizing more than 2, 000 projects and more than 5, 500 students to register for the competition, with a year-on-year increase of 30% in projects. The university student entrepreneurship center SOVO has carefully planned three themed training activities for the competition camp, fully empowering 80 college level project incubation and selection, 13 elite project optimization and upgrading, and collaborating with departments to cultivate projects, helping participating colleges achieve multiple breakthrough results in the provincial competition, laying the foundation for the historical achievements of this national competition.
