On June 7th, the 2024 Hansa University Alliance Annual Conference and the World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI) were held at Franklin University in Switzerland. In the 2024 WURI World Innovative University Rankings, our university entered the top 100 globally for the fourth consecutive year, ranking 71st, and ranked fourth among the 7 Chinese (including Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan) universities that entered the top 100, including Tsinghua University, Peking University, Beijing Normal University, and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

The conference was jointly organized and sponsored by the Institute for National Competitiveness (INC) in Seoul, South Korea, the Hanseatic University Alliance (HLU), the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), the Taylor Institute at Franklin University in Switzerland, and the Korea Institute for Industrial Strategies (IPS), and has been held for five consecutive years.

In addition to this, our university's educational innovation projects submitted in three categories have also achieved remarkable results and significant breakthroughs. The 2024 WURI Ranking set up a total of 13 project categories, and our university departments selected and submitted 7 projects. Among them, our university ranked 12th in the "Student Mobility and Openness" category, 7th in the "Generative AI Application" category, and 8th in the "Culture/Values" category, reflecting the comprehensive strength and innovative breakthroughs in our university's education.

At this conference, Mr. Hwchang Moon, the founder of WURI RANKING and the chairman of the Institute for National Competitiveness (INC) in Seoul, introduced the significant growth of WURI RANKING in 2024. Compared with the four review categories in 2020, this year's WURI RANKING has expanded to 13 categories, covering various aspects from "Student Support and Participation" to "Funding Support" and "Culture/Values," comprehensively assessing the overall strength of global universities in innovation, application, and social responsibility.

It is worth mentioning that in 2024, a total of 1, 072 universities worldwide participated in the WURI Ranking review, with as many as 2880 projects submitted, showing a significant increase compared to 2023. This trend not only reflects the importance that global higher education institutions place on innovation and social impact but also highlights the significant position of WURI RANKING in the global university ranking system.
