At 9:00 a.m. on June 20, the Graduation Ceremony and Degree Conferral Ceremony of the class of 2024 of Dalian Neusoft University of Information (DNUI) was held in the lecture hall on Bochuan Campus. All university leaders and members of the university degree evaluation committee, leaders from various departments and colleges, representatives of teachers and graduates of the class of 2024 as well as representatives of parents attended the graduation ceremony and witnessed this important moment in their lives together. Lu Jing, Director of the Office of the President, presided over the ceremony.

A short graduation movie “The Future - Has Come”, filled with exclusive memories of DNUI, played on the big screen, evoking common memories of the graduates during their time at their alma mater. Afterwards, four students slowly walked onto the stage and delivered a song “The Story of Time”. Four years, more than 1,400 days and nights, carrying too many memories and reluctance. From tenderness to maturity, from confusion to determination, the students will soon take the wonderful blessings and sincere advice of DNUI to a broader world and bloom a more splendid youth.

Gu Jiaming, a student of the class of 2024 in the School of Computer and Software, spoke on behalf of the graduates. He expressed his gratitude for DNUI’s hard work in cultivating him, and shared his gains as well as his expectations for the future.
Xu Dongmei, parent of Yu Zhengzi, a student of the class of 2024 in the School of Intelligence and Electronic Engineering, spoke as a parent representative. She congratulated the students who have successfully completed their university studies, expressed her sincere thanks to the school and teachers, and gave her heartfelt advice to the graduates. She wished the graduates “to set up lofty ideals in the rest of the life, take up the responsibility of the times, and continue to struggle and move forward.”
Prof. Pan Changhong, Deputy Director of the Department of E-Commerce and Supply Chain Management from School of Information and Business Management, spoke as a representative of the faculty. She urged the graduates to maintain their desire for knowledge and pursuit of truth in their new journey, and to continuously improve their comprehensive quality and competitiveness. At the same time, they should be able to hold fast to the bottom line of morality and establish correct values and outlook on life. No matter where they are in the future and what kind of profession they are engaged in, they should always keep a kind and upright heart and be a socially responsible person.
Amidst the warm applause, the President, Prof. Guo Quan, delivered a speech at the graduation ceremony. On behalf of the university, he expressed his warm congratulations to the 2024 graduates who sail far and wide with their dreams, and his sincere thanks to the teachers and parents who have taught and nurtured the students with great care and diligence. Guo Quan reviewed the common memories of the 2024 graduates during their time at school, as well as the stories of their struggles in academic competitions, graduate studies, innovation and entrepreneurship. He fully affirmed the students’ efforts and dedication during their college years and said with deep emotion: “I firmly believe that you will be able to ride the wind and waves and go forward.” At the same time, Guo Quan summarized the great progress made by the university in intelligent management, connotative development, high quality improvement and other undertakings, and shared the joy of witnessing the growth of the university with the graduates.
At the important moment when we are about to start a new journey in life, Guo Quan put forward his hope and blessing to all the graduates: I hope that students will bear the historical mission, continue to write the chapter of the times, and contribute to the construction of a strong country and the great cause of national rejuvenation with the struggle of youth; I hope that students will draw on the fountain of wisdom and make achievements in the future with practical work, and continue the school motto spirit, “to learn and to apply”, and actively participate in the great cause of the construction of the motherland with the conviction of “hard work makes the country flourish” and the mindset of “not claiming credit but always making sure to contribute our share to the success of the cause”. I hope that students will grasp the pulse of the times, embrace the wave of change, and continue to explore new paths forward with morale, perseverance and fortitude.
He also said that DNUI will always be the strong backing of the students no matter they are in the hopeful moment or in the low moment of the twists and turns of life. He hoped that the students will continue to inherit the youthful character of DNUI, show the progressive posture of DNUI students, and devote themselves to the development of the country and the revitalization of the nation with enthusiasm and sincerity.
Graduation is not the bell for the end of performance, but the horn for the beginning of the dream. Before leaving the university for their next journey, the graduates of the class of 2024 raised their right hands and made a powerful graduation oath, renewing the spirit and mission of DNUI students.
“To learn, with knowledge we broaden our life; to apply, with solid arms we shoulder the duty of the times...” The graduation ceremony came to an end with the chorus of the school song “Dream on the Road”. The scene was warm and cozy, and the loud and clear singing echoed in the lecture hall, echoing everyone’s deep attachment to our university.
After the graduation ceremony, the degree conferral ceremony was held. The graduates took the stage one by one, and the university leaders and members of the university degree evaluation committee awarded each graduate with a diploma, adjusted the tassel, and took a group photo. Graduates staged fancy postures to express their thanks, such as making heart shape, embrace, cheering, as well as carrying “flower tube” and “farewell banner”; the scene is lively and ceremonial, full of attachment to the university and the vision of the future. Their faces were filled with bright smiles, framed in this important moment of their lives.
At the end of the ceremony, school leaders and teachers stood up, and waved their hands to see off the graduates of the class of 2024 in the song “Bon Voyage” with expectations and blessings. Four years ago, the students appeared in DNUI with their youthful faces; now their four-year adventure with courage and tenacity turns into their power, making them go further and move forward towards dreams and bright future.
