On March 12th, the “Book Rhyme Sharing Meeting” series of themed reading activities, co-hosted by the school library and the Youth League Committee, was held on the fourth floor of the library at the Software Park Campus. The school’s President, Guo Quan, was invited as the keynote speaker for the first event, recommending the book “Philosophy and Life” to the students. The event was moderated by Wang Xinlei, a teacher from the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

At the beginning of the event, President Guo Quan clarified the activity’s position of being “relaxed” yet “fruitful”, hoping that students would gain insights and wisdom from books, and experience growth through reading.

During the book sharing and exchange, President Guo Quan encouraged teachers and students to view problems from different perspectives, cultivating their critical thinking and logical reasoning abilities. These abilities will help everyone make wiser decisions when facing various difficulties and choices in life.

President Guo Quan shared and guided the teachers and students present to express their own views, interpreting their thoughts, experiences, and insights on life, work, living, and learning, truly achieving thoughtful learning and fruitful results. The atmosphere was filled with a strong scent of books.

President Guo Quan shared his message with everyone and shared his “three hearts and two intentions”, which are the heart of gratitude, the heart of awe, the childlike heart, and being attentive and caring. With a heart of gratitude, one becomes a person with a sunny heart; maintaining a heart of awe, one grasps the measure and knows what to do and what not to do; keeping a childlike heart leads to a happy life; being attentive to the things around, one becomes a “person with a heart”; caring for the people around, one can achieve a win-win situation.

“This reading sharing activity is novel in form and rich in content. It not only promotes mutual exchange but also further stimulates our enthusiasm for reading,” said Miao Xianfeng, a student representative.

At the end of the event, President Guo Quan presented books to student representatives, hoping that students would cultivate the habit of reading and face learning and life with a positive attitude.
