From October 2 to 5, 2022, the 27th “21st Century Coca-Cola Cup” National College English Speech Contest, sponsored by China Daily and hosted by 21st Century English Education Media, was held online. In the finals, Wang Meijia of the English Department of the School of Foreign Languages of our university competed with excellent players from many famous universities across the country, and finally won the third prize of the National University Group.

This “21st Century Cup” integrates elements such as globalization, intelligence and digitalization, and more than 400 young people from all over the country, including Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, gathered in the cloud. This competition lasted more than six months. After the selection of the campus trials, the semi-finals and the finals of Liaoning Province, Wang Meijia, the Grade 2019 English Department of our university, with the careful guidance and help of Gao Song, the English Department teacher, stood out in the finals of Liaoning Province and won the first prize of the finals of Liaoning Province with rich knowledge accumulation, outstanding oral skills and unique speech style. And then she became the only player in Dalian to reach the top four and successfully reached the national run-off stage.

Finally, with her outstanding performance in the national competition, Wang Meijia won the third prize of the 27th China Daily “21st Century Cup” National College English Speech Contest with excellent results, adding to our university’s achievements!
