On the morning of October 14, the Opening Ceremony (Military Training Summary) of Grade 2022 Freshmen and the Commendation Conference of the 2021-2022 academic year of Dalian Neusoft University of Information were grandly held in the stadium of Bochuan Campus. The ceremony began with a solemn flag-raising ceremony at 9 a.m. The national flag guards valiant and heroic in bearing with sonorous steps. In the loud and clear national anthem, the bright five-star red flag rose slowly.

President Guo Quan delivered a speech at the opening ceremony. First of all, President Guo Quan extended a warm welcome to all the new students of Grade 2022, and expressed his sincere congratulations to the group and individual who won the commendation. He fully recognized the self-reliance, wisdom and tenacity of the new students of Grade 2022 in the process of enrollment and military training. President Guo Quan told the students about the rapid development of the university in education and teaching reform, connotative development, school-running conditions and facilities in the 22 years since its establishment, and said that our university would definitely meet the students’ personalized learning needs, stimulate their innovative thinking and innovation ability, and display their style in the professional arena following the times.

At the meeting, the outstanding groups and individuals in the military training of Grade 2022 freshmen were commended.

The Commendation Conference of the 2021-2022 academic year was also held. The school leaders respectively awarded honorary certificates to the outstanding groups, the outstanding individual and the representatives who won Alps Scholarship, Neusoft Education Scholarship, “25 Hour” Alumni Scholarship and Huatian Scholarship.

Li Hao, a student of Grade 2022 from the School of Computer Science, made a speech on behalf of all the freshmen. He said that he liked the beautiful city of Dalian and longed for Dalian Neusoft University of Information, a distinctive university, which would become a place for students to sweat, sow hope and harvest dreams.

Wang Shaobo, a student of Grade 2020 from the School of Intelligent and Electronic Engineering, who is one of the first prize winners of Neusoft Education Scholarship and, made a speech on behalf of the award-winning students. He shared his personal experience in college and expressed his heartfelt thanks to the training of university and the guidance of teachers. Since entering the university, he has maintained the first place in his major in each academic year, participated in many innovation and entrepreneurship projects, and won many national and provincial honors in discipline competitions.

Wang Xiaoguang, a 2005 alumnus, made a speech at the meeting. He said that 15 years after graduation, he returned to his alma mater with a great deal of emotion. He was deeply proud of the comprehensive upgrade of his alma mater in terms of school environment and hardware facilities. He shared his entrepreneurial experience and said that it was the spirit of the Great Neusoft that supported him through the ups and downs. He hoped that the younger students could make full use of the broad platform of the university, study their majors with heart, actively participate in the practice, incubate their dreams, and realize their self-development.

Sun Dongshi, Vice Dean of the School of Information and Business Management, made a speech as a teacher representative. He said that the new students are the fresh blood of the campus and the source of strength for the sustainable development of society. He hoped that students can be cautious in their actions, be receptive to the outside world, and have the vigor and dash of young people. On behalf of all the teachers, he promised to be a good teacher and friend of the students, accompanying the growth of the students. He also hoped that the students would shoulder the mission of the new era, bear in mind the spirit of the motto of university, and become the future light of Neusoft!

"We have just set sail, and our dreams are on the way!" The opening ceremony ended in the university song chorus of all teachers and students.
