On May 15, Dalian Neusoft University of Information held its 18th Sports Meet at the Phase III Sports Ground of the Software Park Campus. Faculty and students gathered at the venue, forming up in formation, embracing the youth covenant with a spirit of deep cultivation and sounding the call of the era with determination and ambition. The event was presided over by Xiong Yaohua, Director of the Academic Affairs Department.

To the stirring strains of the “March of Athletes”, the national flag and university flag honor guard, the bouquet team, the colorful flag team, the referee team, and various faculty-student teams marched past the rostrum, demonstrating the university motto of “To Learn and to Apply” with high spirits.

President Guo Quan announced: "The 18th Sports Meet of Dalian Neusoft University of Information is now open!" Cannons boomed and colorful flags flew. 

The national flag guard marched with steady steps as the Five-Starred Red Flag fluttered in the wind. All stood in reverence and sang the national anthem.

Gao Kuiming, Secretary of the University Party Committee, delivered the opening address.

Feng Junjie, a student from the School of Software, took the athlete’s oath on behalf of all competitors.Wang Qingzhen, a faculty member from the School of Fundamental Education, took the referee’s oath on behalf of all officials.

At the opening ceremony, the School of Fundamental Education and the School of Intelligent and Electronic Engineering jointly presented a large group calisthenics performance entitled “Heaven and Earth, Culture and Martial Arts, Deep Cultivation and Practice”, while the University Student Arts Troupe presented a group calisthenics performance entitled “Youth Stands Firm, Mountains and Rivers Move.”

On the field, athletes gave their all, competing for the limits in split seconds, displaying grace beyond victory and defeat, embodying the fighting spirit of Neusoft people who ignite dreams with passion and forge brilliance with perseverance.

Beyond competitive events, the fun event arena was equally exciting. Sandbag throwing, jump rope relay, 20-person 21-leg race, and Frisbee tic-tac-toe attracted faculty and students to participate and compete side by side. The referee team adhered to the principles of fairness and accuracy, officiating each competition with a rigorous and professional attitude.

Zhang Jin, Vice President of the university, delivered the closing address. He extended warm congratulations to the groups and individuals who achieved excellent results at this sports meet, and expressed gratitude to all athletes, referees, staff, and participating faculty and students.
