2021/03

Six programs offered in DNUI were selected into the second batch of national "Dual Ten-thousand Plan", of which 1 program is national first-class undergraduate programs, and 5 programs are provincial first-class undergraduate programs. All of the 14 selected programs cover 4 disciplines of engineering, management, digital arts and foreign languages, accounting for 40% of the number of undergraduate programs offered in DNUI, and covering more than 65% of the number of undergraduate students in DNUI.

2020/06

DNUI was selected as Global Top 40 in the industry application category of “2020 World University of Real Impact Ranking (WURI Ranking) ”, which was initiated by Hanseatic League of Universities.

2019/12

Nine programs were selected into the first batch of national "Double Ten Thousand Plan", of which 3 programs are national first-class undergraduate programs and 6 programs are provincial first-class undergraduate programs. The number of approved programs ranks first among private universities in China.

2017/12

DNUI was approved by the Ministry of Education as one of the third batch of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Base of Practice and Education of Chinese Colleges.

2017/11

DNUI became the first batch of 10 model universities which transformed to applied universities in Liaoning province.

2017/1

DNUI was approved by the Ministry of Education to be the first 99 Model Universities of Deepening Educational Reform of Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

2016/08

DNUI was approved by the Ministry of Education to be one of the first 50 Model University of Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Only 5 private universities were approved in the assessment.

2015/11

DNUI became one of the first 10 universities which transformed to applied universities in Liaoning province.

2012-2014

Liaoning Province conducted a comprehensive evaluation on all the undergraduate programs offered in the higher education institutes within the province. Seven programs offered in DNUI ranked Top 3 amongst the equivalents. The significance of reform educational and teaching started to show positive results.

2012/07

DNUI was admitted as a full member of the CDIO, an international organization of engineering education.

2009/09

Construction and Application of Practicum Platform for Nurturing Software Talents was awarded the Second Prize of the Sixth National Higher Education Academic Achievement Award.

2009/05

Dalian Neusoft University of Information was inaugurated, which symbolized a major step to becoming a leading university of applied sciences with distinctive characteristics, high standard and entrepreneurial spirit.

2008/09

The school was renamed as Dalian Neusoft Institute of Information and became an independent higher education institute. It is one of the first 4 independent higher education institutes approved by the Ministry of Education. The integrated model for nurturing talents -TOPCARES was developed and implemented.

2006/06

The university became the Dalian teaching center of Software Engineering Master of Northeast University in June 2006, and started to provide the education in Master of Engineering.

2005/09

DNUI's research project titled as The Exploration and Practice on Cultivation Mode of Practical IT Talents was awarded the First Prize of the Fifth National Higher Education Academic Achievement Award, which set a precedent for Chinese private universities.

2004/04

Neusoft Institute of Information became the independent college of Northeastern University, approved by Ministry of Education. The school started to provide undergraduate education.

2003/11

The school was selected by the Ministry of Education as one of the first 35 National Model Software Vocational Education Institutions, and elected as the presiding institution of National Model Software Vocational Education Committee.

2001/09

The first 1,500 students were enrolled.

2001/07

Approved by the People’s Government of Liaoning Province, Dalian Dongfang Institute of Information Technology was renamed as Dalian Neusoft Vocational College of Information Technology. The college provided high vocational education.

2000/06

Approved by the Department of Education of Liaoning Province, the ground-breaking ceremony of Dalian Dongfang Institute of Information Technology was held in June of 2000. Meanwhile, the school was approved to be the Network Education College of Northeastern University (Dalian) and started to offer online undergraduate education.
