Recently, the 2026 World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI Ranking) was released. Boasting outstanding achievements in innovation driven practices, our university has stood out among over 1,000 participating institutions worldwide. For the sixth consecutive year, it has secured a spot within the global top 100 of the comprehensive WURI Ranking, taking the 40th position globally and the 2nd position among Chinese universities, right after Tsinghua University. This marks the best performance our university has ever achieved in this ranking.

Hosted by the Institute for Policy and Strategy on National Competitiveness (IPSNC) in Seoul, South Korea, and jointly supported by the Hanseatic League of Universities (HLU), the Institute for Industrial Policy Studies (IPS), the Taylor Institute of Franklin University Switzerland (TI FUS), and the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), the WURI Ranking has run for seven consecutive years. Its global evaluation system for innovative universities has gained growing influence.

Competition for the 2026 WURI Ranking was unprecedentedly fierce. More than 1,000 global universities and institutions submitted 13,000 innovation practice cases, and 311 universities took part in peer review. Both the scale and coverage of submissions hit an all time high, fully demonstrating the high priority global higher education institutions place on university innovation models and practical experience, as well as the industry recognition of its assessment outcomes.

Our university submitted 14 innovation practice cases this year and made it to the global Top 100 in 10 out of 12 submitted sub categories. With solid educational outcomes and distinctive features, it has demonstrated the innovative strength of Chinese private universities among the world’s top higher education institutions.
