Since establishment, DNUI has undertaken and participated over 600 state-level, province-level and city-level research projects, and signed 600+ projects, including national support program, national science foundation programs, Program 863, Program 973, and the National Torch Plan. 4000+ academic papers have been published. DNUI also received 6 Science and Technology Progress Awards on state, provincial and city levels.

One Key Laboratory of Integrated Development for Publishing was approved by the National Radio and Television Administration. One Key Laboratory of Educational Digital Publishing of Liaoning Province was approved by the Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television Bureau of Liaoning Province. 4 provincial-level key laboratories, one provincial engineering technology research center, one collaborative innovation base docking industrial cluster of provincial higher institutions, one provincial innovation team, 3 key laboratory of Dalian city, 2 research centers for engineering technology of Dalian, one technology transfer center of Dalian, one provincial-level science base of new media arts interactive experience exhibition hall and one science base of new media arts interactive experience exhibition hall of Dalian have been set up.
