From July 15th to August 2nd, a total of 69 students and 4 leading teachers from our Russian partner universities, Altai Normal University, the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration, and the Russian Government's directly affiliated University of Finance and Economics, launched a summer short-term program at our university. The project not only provides a platform for Russian youth to deeply learn Chinese and understand Chinese culture, but also injects vitality into educational exchanges between the two countries, building a bridge of friendship for mutual understanding between the youth of the two countries.
At the opening ceremony, our university's vice president Zhang Wan expressed a warm welcome to the teachers and students who came from afar. She expressed the hope that students can promote personal growth through this cross-cultural exchange and write a new chapter in the cultural exchange between China and Russia. The Russian teacher representative expressed gratitude for the content design of the project and the careful arrangement of our university. Teachers and students are full of expectations for learning Chinese, digital arts, and Chinese culture.
This summer short-term program was divided into two parts: the Chinese language project and the digital arts project. During the three-week Chinese language course, students immersed themselves in the profoundness of the language and experience the unique charm of Chinese culture through the course and activities. In the two-week digital arts course, students delved into new developments in the field of digital media and experience the perfect integration of technology and art. During the project, in addition to professional knowledge, the university also arranged visits to the campus, affiliated hospitals, and enterprises for students, as well as city tours and a series of cultural experiences and practical activities. Russian teachers and students not only deepened their understanding of China, but also marveled at its development.
The graduation ceremony was lively and unforgettable. The students of the digital arts project showcased their experiences in the project through videos, while the students of the Chinese language project expressed their emotions through multiple Chinese songs. Rong Yidan, Dean of the School of International Education of our university, and Fu Liya, Vice Dean of the School of Digital Arts and Design, respectively congratulated Russian students and thanked all teachers and students for their hard work. Natalia, a teacher from Altai Normal University, and Tatiana, Maria, and Li Xingwei, teachers from the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration, also spoke successively. They said that this summer course integrates professional knowledge and culture, allowing students to understand the local customs and people of China while also experiencing the rapid development of modern Chinese society. This not only broadens students' horizons, but also provides useful guidance for their future learning and career planning. This learning experience will also become a valuable memory for everyone.
