The national final of the 23rd Information Security and Countermeasures Competition (ISCC 2026) has successfully concluded. Students from the School of Intelligence and Electronic Engineering strove bravely and responded calmly in this high level national event. Competing against participants from more than 100 “Double First Class” universities including Beijing Institute of Technology, Harbin Institute of Technology, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China and Northwestern Polytechnical University, they stood out from over 5,000 contestants nationwide and won one national first prize and one national second prize. This sets a new all time best record for our university in this competition.
Founded in 2004, the National College Students’ Information Security and Countermeasures Competition (ISCC) is China’s first cyberspace security technical contest. Held for 23 consecutive sessions, it is listed in the National General University Student Competition Ranking and is an authoritative national level academic contest recognized by the Ministry of Education. Hosted by Beijing Institute of Technology, China Ordnance Society and the Virtual Teaching Research Office for Information Countermeasure Technology under the Ministry of Education, this edition comprehensively assesses contestants’ comprehensive technical capabilities including cryptographic attack defense, signal analysis, reverse engineering and network defense.
The two award winning students maintained top academic performance during their studies and mastered core knowledge covering network protocols, reverse engineering, information encoding and programming. Under the guidance of Teacher Yan Xiaoming, they took an active part in school level science and innovation practices and discipline competitions, accumulating abundant hands on experience in attack and defense operations. Throughout the 18 day long competition, they advanced steadily, tackled complex problems one after another, and finally stood out amid nationwide university level competition.
