Recently, the 2025 International University Sports Federation Football World Cup came to a successful conclusion in Dalian. On the afternoon of September 18th, a delegation of 23 members from the women's football team of Santa Catarina South University in Brazil were invited to visit, embarking on a surprising cultural exchange journey.

The team members visited the library of the Software Park Campus, the exhibition hall of the Smart Campus, the SOVO Entrepreneurship Center, and the exhibition hall of the School of Digital Arts and Design. They experienced the charm of technology in immersive projects such as MR Dreaming Star Sea and VR Dong Xiaolong, and experienced the beauty of traditional Chinese art in lacquer fan production. When watching the robot perform "Farewell My Concubine" and the intelligent robotic arm accurately grasp, the team members occasionally let out bursts of amazement. At the farewell, both sides exchanged souvenirs−carefully prepared cultural and creative gifts from the school and signed team jerseys, bringing a warm end to this exchange. Team official Giordana Zeferino Mariano Galato expressed her gratitude for the warm reception of our school and was impressed by the school's educational characteristics, who hopes to further promote exchanges and cooperation between the two schools.

Spread emotions through dance and bloom with youthful brilliance at the opening ceremony

“We need to complete a program that meets international standards within two weeks, " said Liu Yan, a member of the school’s Youth League Committee, recalling the creative process. 20 student actors adopt a noon and evening shift mode, combining dance rhythm with LED light and shadow perfectly through action decomposition teaching and music segmentation polishing.

Intelligent robotic arm impresses the competition with its impressive skills

At the youth training base of the competition, the school's technology exhibition work− intelligent robotic arm − became the focus of the exhibition. This innovative work, which combines "posture detection + wireless transmission" and "AI visual recognition" technology, has the ability to synchronize human hand movements in real time and can operate stably in extreme environments ranging from -20℃ to 150℃. With the help of pre-trained deep learning models, different gestures such as "stone", "scissors", "cloth" can be accurately recognized within one second and corresponding actions can be taken.

With heart connected, volunteer service extends a warm embrace to international friends

This is a beautiful city. "When the Brazilian players sincerely praised it, teacher volunteer Wu Lingtao proudly responded," Yes, we are proud of our city. "Since joining the reception department of the executive committee in early August, she and the student volunteer team have been responsible for the reception work of the Brazilian women's football team, covering various aspects such as team liaison, training coordination, and life services.

Gou Wenjuan, a student volunteer, remembered the rainstorm morning: "I thought the training meeting was canceled, but I saw them persist in training for an hour and a half in the rain." The school organized a viewing group to rush to the competition venue, and Neusoft Blue merged into a sea of youth. Yuan Shiqi, a student from the School of Software, was deeply impressed by the visual symphony of the opening ceremony: "The artistic performance perfectly integrates Dalian's marine culture with youthful vitality."
