Recently, the four-week 2024 Start-up China international IT innovation practice program came to a successful conclusion. At the climax of the program - the "2024 Start-up China International Roadshow Day" event, five program teams composed of 14 University of Queensland students and 17 Chinese and international students from Dalian Neusoft University of Information gathered in the A2-309 Academic Lecture Hall demonstrated the innovative and entrepreneurial achievements of their project. The event attracted nearly 200 teachers and students at the university to watch the event, and it was simultaneously broadcast live on the university’s official Weibo.

 

The roadshow has received much attention and support. Professor Richard Thomas of the University of Queensland, Australia, Rong Yidan, Dean of the School of International Education of Dalian Neusoft University of Information, Tian Huiyi, Dean of the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, teacher Ao Ning, and Ren Zheng, a teacher of the Department of Software and Big Data Technology, participated in this roadshow as judges. Dean Tian Huiyi and Mr. Richard Thomas respectively delivered speeches at the event, emphasizing that this international roadshow is not only a stage for Chinese and Australian students to display and share their talents and creativity but also a bridge to promote mutual learning and friendship between students from the two countries.

 

In the subsequent roadshow presentation, the five teams of the program presented their project situations separately. Among them, the Twincity (Smart Fitness City) project stood out with its personalized, location-based fitness navigation service and won the Best International Project Award. The project aims to meet the needs of young fitness enthusiasts. The product design is interesting, interactive, and easy to operate, filling the current market gap in fitness apps for such needs.

In addition, the event also invited outstanding student program team representatives and student enterprise representatives from Dalian Neusoft University of Information's 2024 China International University Student Innovation Competition provincial selection competition to participate in project exhibitions, including projects such as "Intelligent Wristband Heart Rate and Blood Pressure Monitoring Device" and "Visual Transformation of Art", further enriching the content of the event.

 

After the roadshow, the program closing ceremony was held in the SOVO Room103 auditorium. Rong Yidan, Ren Zheng, and Ao Ning delivered speeches respectively, expressing their sincere hopes and best wishes to the students. Mr. Richard Thomas also expressed his gratitude for the successful organization of this program and all participants, and looks forward to more similar exchange activities in the future to promote cooperation and friendship between students from China and Australia. The student representatives from the University of Queensland and our university also spoke up, sincerely expressing their feelings and gains from participating in this project, and thanking the project teachers and team partners.

 

Finally, Rong Yidan and Mr. Richard Thomas jointly awarded graduation certificates to all project students, witnessing their growth and achievements in this project.
