Being a qualified volunteer is the essential principle of a League member; shouldering social responsibility and promoting the awareness of social responsibility are necessary to each university student; participating in social entrepreneurship is the key way of realizing self-value for university students in this new era. From the beginning of 2017 term to now, I am honored to become a volunteer from Russian department in helping children with autism, from which I benefit quite a lot.

Accompany children with autism to study and give them a little bit of love.

During the March and April of 2017, organized by the youth league committee of Russian department, we went to the social practice base of Russian department----"sparks of fire" autism recovery center for children. Being here, we just knew there were such group of children who needed people's help and care. We participated in lots of their daily work such as helping them clean the children's classroom and dining area, sitting together with these children and helping them exhibiting their talents, during which the workers in this center took out papers and color pens and let both children with autism and the volunteers draw the most beautiful pictures in their mind. The classroom was filled with long-lasting laughter. What impressed me most is the performance of a boy who attended the "Amazing Chinese". Despite the autism, he got the outstanding memory and was able to tell the lunar calendar date given the western calendar date. Besides, he learned some simple Russian expressions from us and he memorized them quite clearly till our leaving, which impressed us. We accompanied the children to do outdoor activities and they enjoyed themselves quite a lot.

After returning to school, we organized our classmates to take active actions in this practice such as charity bazaar activity for children with autism. In this activity, the Russian department collected donation of the entire school reaching more than 2,600 yuan. We give these donation money to the workers of the recovery center, their gratefulness really touched and inspired us. We all should gather meager light to form a torch of love and pass it on and on.
