In late August2015, the National Undergraduate Electronic Design Contest was held asscheduled. DNUI delegations consisting of students from Grade 2012, 2013 and2014 of the Department of Electronic Engineering participated in the contest.Two delegations won the first prize of Liaoning province and the second prizeof national award after entering the national semi-final.

The NationalUndergraduate Electronic Design Contest which lasted more than 20 years is thehighest level for the majors of the electronics category which was sponsored bythe Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education and the PersonnelEducation Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.Almost all colleges with majors of the electronics category nationwide haveparticipated in this contest.

The Department ofElectronic Engineering has persisted in participating in this contest since itsestablishment and carried out projects' training by student association andSOVO, which practiced students' engineering practice ability and has wonprovincial awards for six consecutive years. This year, an undergraduate teamand a three-year program team of DNUI stood out from more than 400 teams andentered the national semi-final after a period of four days and three nights’preliminary contest and the semi-final in Northeastern University. Among them,the three-year program team of DNUI was the only one in Liaoning province thatwent into the national semi-final. Finally, the two teams have won the secondprize in the national level.
