Unveiling Ceremony Held for DUNI-TI Intellectual Joint Research Lab

On the morning of May 5th, the Unveiling Ceremony for DUNI-TI Intellectual Joint Research Lab was held in Room 330 Building A2. The ceremony was attended by Ms. Shen Jie, Director of Asia University Program at Texas Instruments, Mr. Wang Shuai, General Manager of China University Program, Mr. Wen Tao, President of DNUI, and Mr. Guo Quan, Vice President of DNUI. The staff of Department of Electronic Engineering and Technical Support Center also attended the ceremony.

President Wen delivered a speech at the ceremony, expressing his hope that the teachers and students of the university should make full use of the modern equipment in the lab, improve their knowledge and skills, and make more contribution in the design and production of integrated circuits. The both parties had an in-depth discussion on the cultivation of talents and reached a long-term agreement on friendly cooperation. Then President Wen and Ms. Shen unveiled the nameplate of the joint lab, which drew warm applause from the attendants.

After the meeting, the attendants toured around the intellectual joint lab donated by Texas Instrument for the cooperation project. President Wen said, “The joint lab could provide a more open platform for practice, which constitutes a tremendous support to the talent cultivation effort. I hope more and more students could benefit from the lab, and our teachers and students could have the opportunity to study in Texas Instrument and in turn apply what they have learned to the teaching process, developing more talents for the industry, thus achieving a win-win situation.”

When visiting the Student Office & Venture Office (SOVO), Ms. Shen expressed her appreciation of the students’ innovative spirit and entrepreneurship. “I’d like to welcome you to join us in Texas Instrument,” she said to the students demonstrating the practical project. It is known that representatives from Texas Instrument Semiconductor Manufacturing Company visited DNUI and reached a cooperation agreement as early as in October of 2013. Now a new intellectual joint lab will provide a wider platform for the DNUI students and facilitate the cultivation of talents as well as cooperation between the university and the enterprises.
