From 25th to 28th of May, the yacht "Pallada" for teaching practice in Russian Far Eastern State Technical Fishery University—one of partners of School of International Education came to Dalian. It is a rare opportunity for the both parties to strengthen the exchanges and cooperation, and to learn from each other. In order to help students to develop their more intuitive insight into Russian culture, to accelerate language practice, as well as to make 29 overseas students to take the opportunity to visit the teachers of their alma mater, 104 teachers and students both from China and Russia were organized by the Russian Education Management Team went to visit "Pallada" at Dalian Port.

This event received guidance and support from the leaders, Academic Affairs Department and Student Affairs Department. To achieve educational results, three aspects were emphasized in this activity: first of all, the activity had helped students create awareness of international communication and cooperation through learning the history of tsarist Russia and the contemporary history of Russian shipping industry; second, the activity had helped students create awareness of innovation and entrepreneurial spirit such as to be brave in difficulties, diligent in learning, courageous to practice by learning the working conditions on board of "Pallada"; third, the activity had also helped students create awareness of “learning in order to apply” by understanding the practice teaching methods and transnational maritime navigation. The main goal of this activity is the achieved exchange and training based on the tour study. During the visit, students were divided into groups with 3-5 members for each. Combined with initiative communication, each group was introduced the situations on board by one or two Russian crew members in Russian. In the learning process, there are many memorable moments. First, the students on "Pallada" made a detailed presentation from start to finish for our students majoring in Russian, which made our Chinese students majoring in Russian experience a real exchange and study; second, our students were fully affected by the environment on board of “Pallada”, such as their clean bedrooms, delicate classrooms, neat restaurant, as well as their library; third, our students also experienced a deep sense of Russian culture and customs through their unique history display and arrangement.   Finally, a deep gratitude was expressed by sing the song named "Katyusha" by both our Chinese students majoring in Russian and Russian overseas students to the crew on “Pallada”. The activity achieved a complete success when the students and the crew waved goodbye full of sincerity. We look forward to not only another activity like this, but also an opportunity to learn and practice Russia as well as the later on communications and exchanges with its overseas students.
