Recently, 56 teams from our university received award certificates from the 2023 Liaoning Provincial College Student Innovation Challenge and the 22nd Microsoft “Innovation Cup” Global Student Science and Technology Competition (Northeast Regional Competition), including 13 provincial first prizes, 16 second prizes, and 27 third prizes, with a year-on-year increase of 81% in the total number of awards, achieving a historic breakthrough in the number and quality of awards.

The competition is co-sponsored by the Educational Department of Liaoning Province, Dalian Innovation and Entrepreneurship Venture Capital Service Center and Microsoft China, and organized by Dalian University of Technology, Dalian Information Service Outsourcing Industry Innovation and Development Alliance, and Dalian AIGC Industry Innovation and Development Alliance. The Microsoft “Innovation Cup” Global Student Science and Technology Competition has become the world’s largest student science and technology competition, with more than 100,000 students from more than 100 countries and regions participating.
Since the launch of this year’s “Innovation Cup” Northeast Regional Competition, 743 teams from 38 colleges and universities have signed up for the competition, and the number of participating teams has reached a record high. A total of 99 teams from 17 colleges and universities entered the finals after on-campus selection and online preliminary evaluation by participating schools. Among them, 16 projects of our school were shortlisted for the finals, and after wonderful roadshows and fierce competition, they finally won 13 provincial first prizes, and the number of awards increased by 225% year-on-year.
