On March 25th, President Guo Quan led a team to Xi’an to visit enterprises and expand job opportunities, focusing on visiting the Xi’an branch of the alumni-owned company Beijing Guoyao New World Information Technology Co., Ltd., and meeting with alumni in Xi’an. The visit was accompanied by Lu Jing, Director of the President’s Office, Zheng Chunjun, Acting Dean of the School of Computer and Software, and Bai Jie, Deputy Director of the Recruitment and Employment Department.
Beijing Guoyao New World Information Technology Co., Ltd. was established in 2004 and currently has more than 1,600 employees. It is a national-level "little giant" enterprise specializing in fine and unique products and is a key software enterprise within the national planning layout. Shao Changlong, an alumnus from our school’s 2012 Software Engineering program, entered the company’s Beijing headquarters through school-enterprise cooperation and established the Xi’an branch in 2022 to provide information services and industry solutions for the Northwest region.
President Guo Quan thoroughly understood the company’s current status and future plans in IT technology, product research and development, and talent cultivation. He inquired in detail about the growth experiences and challenges faced by alumni in the company, and highly affirmed their outstanding achievements in national defense digitalization and scientific and technological innovation. He expressed that he was very pleased to see the alumni shining in their respective fields and contributing to the construction of national informatization, which is a concrete manifestation of the school's talent cultivation quality.
During the discussion, both sides conducted an in-depth exchange on industry-education integration, technology research and development, joint talent cultivation, and internship employment. President Guo Quan emphasized that both the school and the enterprise should make full use of each other’s advantages and resources to build a long-term cooperation mechanism and jointly create an industry-academia-research integrated teaching practice base to empower each other. In addition, he also pointed out that alumni are the school’s beautiful business card and valuable resources, and an important force for the school's continuous development. He hopes that the alumni will be bold in innovation, take the initiative to connect, and promote a new round of activities between the two sides that are broader, deeper, warmer, and more organized, jointly building a good situation of resource sharing and win-win cooperation between alumni and the alma mater.
