From March 20th to 21st, our school’s President, Guo Quan, along with Vice President Zhang Wan and Director of School of International Exchange and Cooperation Rong Yidan, visited Malaysia and met with Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TAR UMT).

At Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), President Guo Quan, accompanied by Mr. Chen Weidi, the person in charge of international projects at the university, met with Professor Ahmad Fauzi bin Ismail, President of the university, Professor Mohd Shafry Bin Mohd Rahim, Vice President, and Dr. Mohd Ariffin Abu Hassan, Director of the International Cooperation Department. During the talks, President Guo Quan introduced the talent cultivation positioning of Dalian Neusoft University of Information, which focuses on industry-education integration, innovation and entrepreneurship, and international cultivation, as well as the school’s educational achievements and industry-academic cooperation in the fields of artificial intelligence and healthcare. President Fauzi introduced the higher education in Malaysia, the history and basic situation of the university, as well as the development plan of the National Membrane Technology Laboratory led by President Fauzi and the university’s focus on artificial intelligence.

At Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TAR UMT), Professor Li Shiwei, President of the university, Professor Luo Cuifeng, Vice president, Director Huang Huijin of the International Student Affairs Office, and Heads of relevant colleges and departments warmly received President Guo Quan and his delegation. In the talks, President Guo Quan reviewed the history of exchanges between the two universities in recent years, stating that since President Li Shiwei and his delegation visited Dalian Neusoft University of Information last year, the two sides have been in close communication. Two teachers from TAR UMT visited Dalian Neusoft University of Information for a short term in 2023, and the two universities are currently continuously communicating on joint talent cultivation and short-term student exchange programs.

Subsequently, Vice President Zhang Wan, Rong Yidan from the school of International Exchange and Cooperation, and Heads of the School of Engineering and Technology, School of Computer and Information Technology, School of Communication and Creative Industries, Enterprise Incubation and Entrepreneurship Center, and the Center for Continuing and Professional Education at TAR UMT specifically discussed the needs and design of the student exchange program. Both sides will promote more interaction and cooperation between students and teachers through short-term project exchanges, building a long-term exchange and cooperation bridge between the two universities. The delegation visited the school’s laboratories, research institutes, and other teaching and research facilities.
