Recently, the Open Source Models in AI Challenge of Huawei Developer Competition Final (hereinafter referred to as “AI Challenge”) was successfully held at Beijing in the activity of Huawei Cloud Developer Day. “Thank you, Cheems!” a team composed of four sophomores in our school, has emerged as a new force, competing with many first-rate domestic universities such as Harbin Institute of Technology and Xi’an Jiaotong University. With the absolute advantage of the first place in the preliminary contest and the semi-finals, it has advanced to the finals and won the first prize! The winning team is guided by Sun Qian, a teacher of our school, and its members include sophomores, Shi Jingze, Lei Jiong, Wang Yixiang and Li Jinjia.\

The year of 2023 is known as the first year of AI Large model. Technology and Internet enterprises represented by cloud computing giants have focused on the latest form of AI development, comprehensively innovating productivity with “hundreds of models and thousands of patterns”, accelerating the digital transformation and upgrading of the industry, and competing for “first class seat” in the era of intelligent economy. Since its launch on November 15, the AI Challenge has attracted more than 300 teams and 1500 participants. In addition to teachers and students in universities and research institutes, there are also many global AI enthusiasts and researchers. Competition questions are based on the open source model provided by Shengteng AI Cloud Service “Hundred Models and Thousand Patterns” Zone, which provides players with Huawei full-stack AI technologies such as Shengteng Computing Power, AI Computing Framework MindSpore, AI Application Development Platform ModelArts, and builds a question-and-answer robot in the medical field based on ChatGLM2-6B to answer questions in the medical field correctly. Players can improve the model effect by fine-tuning the algorithm, prompting engineering, plug-in knowledge base and so on, so as to realize the rapid development of AI applications making the large models accessible.

Experts from Huawei Cloud, China Software Industry Association, Beijing University of Technology, Beijing Institute of Technology and Beihang University served as the final judges, and made a comprehensive selection from the dimensions of “Defense Report Quality”, “AI Application Demo Demonstration”, “Modeling Exploration Process” and “Innovation in Modeling Scheme”. The team of our university won the first prize, teams from Hangzhou Dianzi University and Harbin Institute of Technology won the second prize, and teams from Xi’an Jiaotong University and Fuzhou University won the third prize. Meanwhile, the team of Northwest University and Dalian University of Technology, teams from Zhejiang Agriculture and Forestry University and Qilu University of Technology won excellence award.
