Our Students Won Good Results in the National Finals of the 8th "Datang Cup" National College Students' Mobile Communication 5g Technology Competition

From June 25 to June 28, the national finals of the 8th "Datang Cup" National College Students' Mobile Communication 5G Technology Competition were held in North China University of Technology. Li Ning, Deputy Director of the Talent Exchange Center of Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Li Beilin, Deputy Secretary General of China Association of Communication Enterprises, and other leaders attended the award ceremony. Four students from Department of Communication Engineering of the School of Intelligence and Electronic Engineering of DNUI entered the national finals with the results of the provincial first prize. Finally, Yuan Mengyi and Zhang Ruotao won the second prize of the national undergraduate group; Geng Haiying and Kong Xiangrui won the national excellence award of undergraduate group. Tutor Wang Meng won the title of "Excellent Tutor" in this competition. At the same time, our school won the award of excellent organization and coordination unit of the competition for the first time. In addition, 6 students majoring in Communication Engineering of the School of Intelligence and Electronic Engineering of our university won the provincial second prize and 32 students won the provincial third prize.



"Datang Cup" National College Students' Mobile Communication 5G Technology Competition is sponsored by the Talent Exchange Center of Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and China Association of Communication Enterprises. It is a national academic and engineering innovation competition organized by Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, North China University of Technology and Datang Mobile. The competition was listed in the top 50 of the national colleges and universities discipline competition in 2020 by the China Society of Higher Education of Ministry of Education. It is a college and university students’ discipline competition with a dominant position in the communication field, and it is also the first mobile communication competition in the national high-level competition.

The participating students came from more than 300 colleges and universities in 30 provinces, cities and autonomous regions, and the number of participants reached 14,000. After the provincial competition selection, nearly 1700 students from hundreds of colleges and universities such as Harbin University of Technology, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, National University of Defense Technology, Wuhan University, Sun Yat-Sen University, Lanzhou University, Northeastern University, East China Normal University and Dalian Neusoft University of Information were finally shortlisted for the national finals.
