Recently, the final of the 2021 "Challenge Cup" Extracurricular Academic Science and Technology Works Competition for College Students in Liaoning Province was held at Dalian University of Technology. All 20 works of DNUI won awards, 4 of which entered the provincial final. We had stood the school trial, provincial preliminary contest and provincial final, winning 3 special prizes, 1 first prize, 4 second prizes and 12 third prizes. The "Challenge Cup" Extracurricular Academic Science and Technology Works Competition for College Students is an essential part of the "Challenge Cup" competition series. As an oriented, demonstrative and mass competition among college students' extracurricular academic science and technology events, it is sponsored by the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, the China Association for Science and Technology, the Ministry of Education, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the All-China Students’ Federation and governments at provincial level. It is known as the Olympics of academic science and technology for college students in China. This event aims to inspire college students to pursue science and knowledge, work hard, innovate, and rise to challenges.

The competition is composed of contests at national, provincial and school levels, following a selection mechanism at different stages. Among all 1,502 works in Liaoning Province, 238 works from Northeastern University, Dalian University of Technology, Dalian Maritime University, DNUI and other universities entered the provincial final. Among them, 60 works from 27 universities (among which there were only 2 private universities) entered the national competition. 2 provincial special prize winners of DNUI entered the national competition.
