On the afternoon of October 9th, the Grade 2020 freshmen of Dalian Neusoft University of Information dressed in school uniforms gathered at the stadium of Phase III to attend the Opening Ceremony of the Grade 2020 freshmen and the 2019-2020 academic year commendation conference.

At the meeting, the school leaders personally put on the emblem of Dalian Neusoft University of Information for the Grade 2020 freshmen representatives, representing a warm welcome to them. Since then, the Grade 2020 freshmen have been branded as "Neusofter", and also carry the spirit of Dalian Neusoft University of Information.

At the opening ceremony, President Wen Tao made a speech on the theme of "Start with virtue, be loyal to ideal, grow with learning and succeed with innovation". President Wen Tao extended a warm welcome to all the Grade 2020 freshmen. President Wen Tao pointed out that the year 2020 will be marked in the history of mankind. In particular, the sudden COVID19 has disrupted our normal study and life. The students have withstood the double test of the epidemic and entrance to the university, successfully embarking on a new journey in life. 2020 is the landmark school year. Based on the deep understanding and unremitting pursuit of education, Neusoft adheres to the school-running philosophy of "education creates student value" and the school positioning of applied universities, constantly explores and strives to progress, innovation and development, works of a sparsely populated "new education" road and has achieved fruitful results. The year 2020 is a brand new starting point. I hope all the students can transform their roles in thought and action, work hard and achieve a meaningful and highly exciting life.

There was also a commendation conference for the 2019-2020 academic year. At the conference, the school leaders announced the commendation decisions of outstanding individuals, advanced collectives, ALPS scholarships, Neusoft Education Scholarships, and Huatian Scholarships, and awarded honorary certificates to the winners respectively.

Zhao Hailin, a student from Class 20005, majoring in Digital Media Technology, School of Digital Arts and Design, delivered a speech on behalf of the freshmen of the Grade 2020 freshmen. He expressed his pride in joining Neusoft campus as well as his longing and expectation for a better life in the university in a passionate language. On behalf of all the freshmen, he promised that he would study diligently, persevere, improve his quality and innovate.

Li Jintai, one of the winners of the Huatian Scholarship, from the Class 17006 of Computer Science and Technology in the School of Computer and Software, delivered a speech on behalf of the award-winning students. He shared his experience and insights about his university growth, and expressed his gratitude to the school's cultivation on behalf of the students, and his blessings for the 20th anniversary of the school. He also put forward suggestions and hopes for college life to his junior students, hoping that they can self-discipline and control in the university, actively participate in competitions, and continuously improve their learning ability.

Sun Mingfei, general manager of Ba'en Group, a student of Grade 2001 majoring in Information Technology and Business Management of School of Information and Business Management, and the entrepreneurship tutor of the Entrepreneurship Center of our university, made a speech on behalf of the alumni. On behalf of all the alumni, she expressed her deep gratitude to her Alma Mater and teachers. During the speech, she shared her experience and insight of continuous entrepreneurship, and encouraged the junior students to strive to create personal value, improve personal ability and broaden their horizons during the university period.

Tian Huiyi, a teacher from the School of Information and Business Management, on behalf of all the teachers, sent good words to the Grade 2020 freshmen. Teacher Tian expressed in her speech that she hoped that the majority of the 2020 freshmen will be responsible for the mission of a powerful nation from the beginning of their enrollment, and explore various innovative possibilities in the pursuit of academic studies; In university, we should keep forging ahead, acquire knowledge, cultivate self-cultivation and character, and have the courage to challenge problems and break through ourselves.

The year 2020 has been an extraordinary year. At the end of the opening ceremony, all the teachers and students present chorused "Ode to the Motherland" in unison.
