On April 18, after more than a month of battles in the cloud, the 4th "Attack and Defend" SAP International Business Simulation Challenge came to a successful conclusion. Mr. Guan Yi and Mr. Wu Di from the Department of Information Management and Information Systems, School of Information and Business Management of Dalian Neusoft University of Information, led two teams winning the third prize at the international level after the group competition, semi-finals and finals.

This competition is based on SAP/ERPsim platform, which is developed by HECM in Montreal, Canada. It simulates the operation of procurement, production, inventory, distribution, logistics, finance and other modules on the classic business management software of SAP BusinessSuite. Teams are formed by five students each, playing the role of corporate decision makers to run the company, making corporate decisions through the judgment of internal reports and external market reports, and competing with other teams in the common market environment to experience the charm of business warfare.

The aim of the competition is to encourage bold innovation and exploration in business processes and business management by allowing students to simulate business operations in a real-life management system.

In the course of the competition, students and teachers seized the only two opportunities provided by the organizers to become proficient in the system's operational capabilities, get familiar with the operations corresponding to each individual's role, and carefully summarize after each training and competition. The SAP/ERPsim system used in this competition is a full English operating system, the students combined the professional knowledge and ERP sandbox foundation with our regular learning, step by step, to understand the system thoroughly. Due to the SAP/ERPsim system server in the United States using the cloud training and competition at the same time, each team member's location and network conditions were not the same, resulting in poor communications and network environment instability in training and competition. DNUI students had to think of ways, some students used personal hotspot to complete the game; some students deliberately increased the home traffic to overcome network problems. In a more urgent situation, some students could not log into the system during the finals, but with one person absent, DNUI students worked together to finish the competition and finally got the third prize.

This year's competition was organized by CNAIS and SAP University Alliance, hosted by Beijing Jiaotong University and co-organized by HEC School of Business in Montreal, Canada. Since March 21, 160 teams from nearly 80 famous universities and colleges have participated in this competition.
