On the evening of August 8, the 14th campus original costume design competition, jointly sponsored by the School of Digital Arts and Design College and Vida paper industry, was held in the Student Activity Center.
After all levels of review, a total of 54 groups of contestants from the Department of Digital ArtS and Design have been selected as the finalists. This year, the competition is divided into four themes: "Vida Warms China", "Wonderful China", "Ink Rhymes China" and " Red Hearts Shine on China". After the brilliant opening dance, the host announced the official start of the competition. This year’s entries are based on the theme of "Green Environmental Protection" and integrated with the characteristics of the department and traditional Chinese culture elements. During the competition, the dynamic and lively theme music sets off the distinctive color keynote and rich design details of each group of entries, and matches with the rhythmic steps of the models in the show, presenting a unique and charming fashion feast for the audience. After nearly two hours of fierce competition, "Devil from Heaven" won the first prize of "Vida warms China" group, and "the Old Man in Green Shirt" won the first prize of "Ink Rhymes China".
Liu Yibo, the first prize winner of "Vida warms China" group, from Digital Media Arts class 19001, said in an interview: "I am very excited to win the prize, and I am also very pleased. A lot of hard preparations have been made before the competition. Everyone has made concerted efforts to complete this work. At the same time, we are very grateful for the hard work of the workers behind the scenes. "
"This year, the material and environmental protection elements of clothing design are more comprehensive, and the visual impact of color is stronger," said Tang Rongrong, a teacher from the School of Fundamental Courses. From the presence to the interpretation of clothing, from the expression of the model to the expression of his body, the model of devil from heaven can make people feel the collision of good and evil, the integration of Yin and Yang. The display of the original clothing should be an overall display, which should embody the style, color, function, and artistry of the clothing design, and it is the model that embodies all these. So for the future competition, in addition to looking forward to the students to think more boldly, to achieve, but also hope that the important link of model display can be more integrated with clothing, the designer’s design concept will be better displayed to the judges and the audience.
