DNUIers Achieved Good Results in the China Final of the 13th International Contest of Innovation

From November 15th to 17th, 2019, the China Final of the 13th International Contest of Innovation was held in Nanjing. The contest had gone through selection in more than ten regions (including Beijing, Tianjin, Liaoning, South China, Anhui, Hebei, Henan, Hubei, Hunan etc.), before a total of 500 teams (including those from Peking University, Tianjin University etc.) were admitted to the final. Five DNUI teams were jointly sent to the final by the Department of Internet of Things, and the Department of Data Science and Big Data Technology from the School of Computer and Software. DNUI students won one national second prize, two regional second prizes and three regional third prizes after oral defense, demonstration and evaluation.

The International Contest of Innovation (iCAN for short) is globally co-organized by the iCAN Association, the Innovative Teaching Approach Guidance Sub-Committee of the Ministry of Education, the Chinese International NEMS Society and Peking University. Designated to promote innovation and entrepreneurship of college students, the annual competition is one of the quality projects of the Ministry of Education. Adhering to the spirit of “Confidence, Persistence, and Dream”, iCAN guides and inspires college students to be creative and innovative. It aims to seek and cultivate a group of promising young with great potential in innovation and entrepreneurship, thus promoting the development of high-tech industries and setting up an international communication platform for high-tech innovation and entrepreneurship.
