The Laboratory Was Inaugurated

The inauguration of the SPRESENSE Smart Application Joint Lab was held in conference room A2-330 in the afternoon. At the meeting, Vice President Guo Quan and President Takanose inaugurated the joint laboratory together.

It is reported that in July 2018, Sony launched a development kit called SPRESENSE, which was specially designed for the Internet of Things. With excellent energy consumption ratio, it can be used on equipment such as drones, smart speakers or cameras. In August 2018, before SPRESENSE was officially launched in China, engineers of Sony, led by Neusoft (Japan), came to DNUI to conduct internal technical training for more than 20 students majoring in Computer Science and Technology (Embedded Direction). What’s more, obstacle avoidance competition and model car racing were held based on this platform. On July 9, Mr. Koizumi, Director of the loT Division of SONY Semiconductor Corporation, also gave a lecture on technology for the students. In the future, Department of Computer Science and Technology will continue to conduct in-depth research on some of the intelligent algorithms provided by the platform.
