On December 28th, the stadium of Dalian Neusoft University of Information was filled with bright lights and great warmth. The faculty and staff gathered together to participate in the 2019 New Year Party and Awards Ceremony. Chairman Liu Jiren and all the leaders of DNUI attended the event.

Chairman Liu delivered a speech at the party. He extended his gratitude to the teachers who had contributed to the educational enterprise of DNUI, and painted the future of our university. At last, he expressed his hope and requirements for all faculty and staff. Chairman Liu pointed out that education is a product of social service. Therefore, to understand education, it’s of great necessity to understand the changes in society. Education needs to transform accordingly from imparting knowledge in the past to passing on skills and abilities. Lecture forms should shift from class-centered to value-centered. We are not only a traditional university, but also an incubator and a proper place for students to understand the future society. This new era has provided better opportunities and broader space for the development of both Neusoft Education and the teachers. Every teacher is expected to become an innovator and a designer for his or her own long-term career development.

The Awards Ceremony for Excellent Team and Outstanding Individuals of 2018 was held at the party. DNUI Party Secretary and President Wen Tao delivered a congratulatory message to welcome the New Year. President Wen commented on our achievements in 2018, and encouraged teachers and students to fully implement the fundamental tasks of strengthening moral education and cultivating people in the upcoming year. With the concept “Education Creates the Value of Students”, we will commit ourselves to deepening the TOPCARES educational and teaching reform within the framework of OBE; to establishing and implementing the blended education model; to promoting the in-depth integration of information technology and education; to continuously improving the educational ecology of industry-education-research integration and to comprehensively improving the quality of talent cultivation. Meanwhile, Neusoft Education & Technology Group will also carry out three-dimensional and full-chain strategic layout of education derivative business such as continuing education, education resources output, digital workshop, university science park etc., and strive to become the leader of China's digital talent education service.

The New Year Party was held in the form of chorus. With all the faculty and staff participating in the performance, a grand celebration was presented, showing the DNUI spirit of walking hand in hand towards a common dream. The melodious sound of a violin marked the beginning of the music feast. The Melody of Time, a medley of songs performed by the College Students Art Troupe and the hosts ignited the enthusiasm of the audience. All schools had been well-prepared and presented a series of wonderful programs. The chorus styles varied from classic revolutionary ones, nostalgic ones to pop music etc., either melodious, or passionate and inspiring. At the same time, the programs were interspersed with poetry recitation, dance, yoga and other abundant forms of performance, which were creative and fantastic. All the programs had won applause from the audience. Through the touching performance, DNUIers had gathered more strength for our dreams.

The theme video Proud Teenagers was produced by the Branding and Strategic Development Department and Golden Touch Studio from School of Digital Arts and Design. It was acted by the teachers in the form of MV, revealing the changes of DNUI in the past 18 years and our entrepreneurial spirit of staying true to the mission, never stopping dreaming, and staying young and passionate forever. On this occasion of celebrating the New Year, DNUIers were deeply touched and inspired.

Stay true to the mission and sing to the dream. We are pleased to work in such a university that is full of changes and chances for improvement at all times. Facing new historical opportunities and challenges, the faculty and staff will be dedicated to a new round of educational and teaching reform with more enthusiasm and solidarity, in the hope of making a breakthrough and achieving growth for both individuals and DNUI, cultivating more outstanding talents for social development and national construction, and ultimately realizing the maxim of “Education Creates the Value of Students”.
