DNUI Students Awarded in Basic Subjects Contests

DNUI students from the School of General Education were awarded with one 2nd prize (international), three 3rd prizes (international), two 1st prizes (national), five 2nd prizes (national), fourteen 3rd prizes (national), six 1st prizes (provincial), ten 2nd prizes (provincial), eight 3rd prizes (provincial) and two prizes (municipal) in a range of subject contests in 2018, covering mathematics, physics, humanities and sports.

Twenty-seven students, guided by Han Zhifang from the School of General Education, were presented with seventeen prizes, including three two 1st prizes (national), one 3rd prize (national), three 1st prizes (provincial), eight 2nd prizes (provincial) and two 3rd prizes (provincial) in the College Mathematics Contest (CMC) held in Oct., 2018. They won the prizes against more than 60, 000 competitors from Qinghua University, Beijing University, Dalian University of Technology, Northeastern University and other institutions of higher learning.

Contestants guided by Wang Yujun from the School of Fundamental Courses were awarded with twelve prizes in US Mathematical Contest in Modeling, China Undergraduate Mathematical Contest in Modeling (CUMCM) and the League Contest in Mathematical Modeling of the Northeastern Provinces, including one 2nd prize (international), three 3rd prizes (international), two 1st prize (provincial), two 2nd prizes (provincial) and four 3rd prizes(provincial).

The competing teams, guided by Li Qiaoming and Dong Tianfang from the School of Fundamental Courses and the Experiment and Training Centre, gained three prizes including one 1st prize (provincial) and two 3rd prizes (provincial) in Liaoning College Students Physics Experiment Contest in Oct., 2018. It was a breakthrough for DNUI which was the only non-governmental institution of higher learning in this event.

Students guided by Zhangliang from School of Fundamental Courses claimed seventeen prizes including two 1st prize (national), two 2nd prizes (national) and thirteen prizes (national) in the 14th National Standardized Knowledge Contest of the Chinese Language. They made the achievements against over 130,000 contestants from more than 300 institutions of higher learning.

In addition to the above contests, DNUI students also won prizes in sports events such as Dalian College Students Ping-Pong Contest and Dalian College Students Volleyball Contest.
