On August 23, “Conference on FeaturedDevelopment of Maker Spaces 2018 China”, hosted by Chuangtoutiao, co-hosted byCapital Institute of Science and Technology Development Strategy (CISTDS) andco-organized by Lieyunwang, was held in Beijing. At the meeting, the finalnominee list of “Finding 100 Special Spaces”, jointly organized byChuangtoutiao and CISTDS, was officially released. After the previous onlinematerial declaration, public voting, expert review, SOVO of our universityfinally won the “Top 100 Special Maker Space 2018 China” with 1035 votes.

Zhang Zhihong, Director of the Torch Centerof the Ministry of Science and Technology, Sun Qixin, Deputy Director of theIncubator Management Department of the Torch Center of the Ministry of Scienceand Technology, Zhang Wei, Executive Deputy Director of China Innovation andEntrepreneurship Development Research Center, Chen Zhigang, founder ofChuangtoutiao, and Yan Zhenjun, Executive Director of CISTDS attended themeeting. The heads of the incubator associations from Beijing, Shanghai,Tianjin, Zhejiang, Jilin, Guangdong, Sichuan and other provinces and cities andthe maker space union presented awards to the representatives of selectedspaces.

From April 2018, Chuangtoutiao carried out“Finding 100 Special Spaces” nationwide. There were more than 30 provinces,cities and regions, and more than 1,000 maker spaces signing up for the event,altogether 2 million online voting, and more than 10 million online visits.From the level of participation, there were more than 250 national-level makerspaces and incubators, and nearly 500 of municipal level and above (includingnational level).
