On the afternoon of June 7, thefirst session of “DNUI SOVO Entering the Community” series was held in the 204Public Welfare Teahouse of Social Organization Service Center of HeishijiaoCommunity. Hosted by the Student Office and Venture Office (SOVO), theevent was directed to the heads of Heishijiao Community Social Organization aswell as the community full-time workers. The theme activities included “BeHappier and Know Yourself Better” and “About Image”.

Under the theme “Be Happier andKnow Yourself Better”, Zhao Guoqin, a teacher from DNUI Mental Health EducationCenter guided participants into their inner worlds through experiencing. Firstof all, divided into groups of 5-6, the participants each was given 16 cards.After observing the 16 pictures at hand, each person was expected to describehis/her first feeling of each picture with one word and wrote it on the card.In the second step, each person colored the 16 words he/she had written.Thirdly, each person selected one as the business card and introducedhimself/herself to other group members. In the fourth step, each person drewhis/her current image, and introduced himself/herself to the group members inthe voice of a best friend. At last, they were supposed to pick appropriatecards for other group members and give them away to each member. Through theexperience, the participants not only better knew themselves, but also had adeeper understanding of the group members. What’s more, they gained physicaland mental relief and relaxation.

For the theme “About Image”, LuQingyuan, a teacher from Department of Admission Office and Career Guidance, shared her experience ofdressing up on various occasions. Ms. Lu said: "In addition to satisfyingbasic functions, dressing is a tool for information communication. It is notfor fashion, but for a happy life and better work."

In 2018, the Student Office andVenture Office (SOVO) opened up innovative and entrepreneurial resources forsurrounding communities. The “DNUI SOVO Entering the Community” series ofinnovative and entrepreneurial public welfare activities launched by SOVO aimto enhance interactions with surrounding communities and share the resources ofinnovation and entrepreneurship.
