On the morning of May 25th, colorful flags flied and music wasplayed on the stadium of Dalian Neusoft University of Information. Teachers andstudents of Great Neusoft gathered here to participate in the 13thschool sports meeting.

At 7:50 in the morning, along with the impassioned “March of Athletes”, atotal of 25 teams, including national flag team, school flag team, bouquetteam, colorful flag team, and the teams of all departments passed through therostrum in turns for review. Each department showed themselves through creativemodeling and graceful dance. There were lively and lovely original mascots andpassionate Russian songs and dances... The diverse performances inspired theteachers and students on the court and received continuous applause.

The Department of Digital Arts launched new ideas again this year. A floatdecorated with a Beijing Opera mask about 1.5 meters long and 0.8 meters wideslowly entered, instantly attracting attention from the audience. The floatunfolded, and male roles, female roles, painted faces and clowns stepped onstage in succession, which received warming applause on the spot. It wasreported that the float was designed and made by the teachers and students ofthe Department of Digital Art. They incorporated innovative elements intoclassical patterns such as red-crowned cranes and sprays that were traditionalChinese cultural features, displayed them on the surface and internalbackground board of the float by hand-painting, and fixed the rope into ballswhich were made into decorating flowers. They reinterpreted the Chinese classicin an innovative way.

After the team review ceremony, Wen Tao, Secretary of the Party Committeeand Principle of the school, solemnly announced: “The thirteenth sports eventof Dalian Neusoft University of Information is officially opened!” The nationalflag guard team entered the stadium, and the Five-Starred Red Flag rose with thesolemn national anthem.

Vice President Guo Quan made a speech at the opening ceremony. He stressedthat in the past year, the various undertakings of our school had flourished, whichindicated that the talents cultivation work in our school had entered a newstage. Vice President Guo Quan pointed out that all teachers and students wereexpected to display their youth and energy in an enthusiastic and positiveattitude in the arena and strengthen their body and forge their character intheir new life and work to become a powerful guarantee for new forces in thenew dream pursuing journey. Subsequently, Meng Fanqi majoring in HumanResources, from Class 15001 of the Department of Information Management, tookthe oath on behalf of the athletes. Yang Hongling, from the physical and mentalhealth education management team of the Department of General Studies, swore onbehalf of the referees.

Variable and complicated team transformation of the magnificentperformance of large-scale group calisthenics set off a climax at the scene. InSalute 2018 in the Dream Pursuing Journeyby the Wushu Club of the Department of General Studies, 1,058 studentsperformed with Tai Chi Fans, displaying the national character when they openedand closed the fans. The team transformed into the styles of the numbers “18,2000-2018” to send a blessing for the 18th anniversary of ourschool. The Youth in the Name of This Ageperformed by the Department of Digital Arts showed the vigor and vitality ofthe young people in the new era with dynamic music and youthful dancing. The Ancient Style Handed Down and ArtAchievement Reaching High performed by the College Students Art Troupesblended Chinese style and modern dancing rocked all the audience.

In addition to the traditional field competitions and track events, thesports events this year also included fun games such as jumping ball relays,hula hoop relays, and long rope skipping and so on. The athletes fought hard inthe arena; the referees were serious and fair; the audience shouted and cheeredenthusiastically; the volunteers worked behind the scenes and etc. Stadium ofthe Dalian Neusoft University of Information became a field of youth andjoy.

After fierce competitions, Department of Digital Arts, joint team ofNetwork Engineering and Internet of Things education management team of theDepartment of Computer Science and Technology, joint team of Human Resources,Financial Management and Engineering Management education management team ofthe Department of Information Management were the top three winners of thefemale student athletes; Department  ofElectronic Engineering, Department of Digital Arts, and Department of BusinessManagement received the top three of the male student athlete respectively; theManagement Delegation, Department of Information Management, and the JapaneseDepartment received the top three of the faculty; Department of Digital Arts,Department of Electronic Engineering, and joint team of Network Engineering andInternet of Things education management team of the Department of ComputerScience and Technology obtained the top three of all the students’ group. Inaddition, the General Assembly elected the students' group and the faculty'sgroup awards for morality, outstanding performance, excellent march-inperformance, and outstanding promotion.

Ren Hao, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of our school, made aconcluding speech. He pointed out that strengthening sports exercises andenhancing physical fitness were the basis for our future study, work and life.At present, China had entered a new era, so had the development of the school.The new era would require new images, new actions, and new achievements. Hehoped everyone would make use of this event as an opportunity to spread thespirit of cooperation, hard work, and positive attitude displayed at the gamesto the future work, study and life and live a more meaningful life.

The sports meeting of Dalian Neusoft Universityof Information was a prosperous event and was also a stage that embodied theinnovation and creativity of teachers and students. Wen Tao, Secretary of theParty Committee and Principal of Dalian Neusoft University of Information, wastouched by the enthusiasm and passion of the teachers and students. He wasthrilled at the scene to encourage the students to walk out of the dormitoryand walk into the bright outdoors to cultivate a positive attitude towardslife. Only by maintaining a positive attitude, would they be full of strengthand persistence, so that they would realize their dreams.
