At the meeting, President Wen Tao acquainted the guests with the profileof DNUI and its international cooperation and exchange. Ge Jian, DeputySecretary General and Chief Representative of EECO, introduced the backgroundand operation of EECO. He highly praised our campus environment andachievements in education and teaching methodology, hoping that they can seizethe opportunities brought about by the Belt and Road Initiative, and play arole in promoting cooperation between universities in Central Asia and DNUI inthe field of information technology education.

During the visit, the guests visited the library, the Student Office andVenture Office (SOVO), and Department of Digital Arts. Feng Shixuan, Deputy Deanof School of the International Education, and Rong Yidan, Deputy Director of President’sOffice, accompanied the guests during the reception.

The Eurasian Economic Cooperation Organization was founded on November 9th,2012, by business elites from China, Germany, Russia, India, and Greece. InZurich, they cosigned the "Zurich Convention on the Establishment of theEurasian Economic Cooperation Organization". The organization is referredto as EECO and its headquarters is in Russia. Since its establishment, EECO hasbeen making great efforts to enhance exchanges and cooperation between theEurasian countries in economy, trade, science and technology, culture, tourism,etc., promoting the formation of a global partnership and the coordinateddevelopment of member countries. It has organized and participated in majorinternational events such as the Eurasian Economic Forum. After five years ofdevelopment, the representatives of EECO members have spread over 40 countriesand regions. Furthermore, EECO has formed favorable cooperative relationshipswith international organizations such as the Shanghai Cooperation Organization(SCO), APEC, and the Eurasian Union, becoming one of the most influentialnon-governmental organizations in Europe and Asia. It has made certaincontributions to the economic and trade cooperation and development of theEurasian countries.
