Recently, according to “ theMinistry of Education’s Announcement on the Publication of the Results of theRecord and Approval of the Undergraduate Majors in Regular Institutions ofHigher Education in 2017” (Document of Higher Education〔2018〕 No.4), our school has newly added the majors of data science and largedata technology (080910T, engineering), health services and management(120410T, management) and medical imaging technology (101003, Science) forundergraduates.

Our school aims at the forefrontof the big data industry to meet the needs of the reform and development ofhealthcare in our country. The three new undergraduate majors are opened on thebasis of the advantages of the Neusoft Group in large digital medicalproduction and the industry of massive health. Among them:

The major of data science andlarge data technology will cultivate talents in basic theories and knowledge oncomputer, network, data processing and other related fundamental disciplineswith the purpose to master basic theories and basic knowledge of naturalscience, data science and large data technology, and the ability to skillfullyapply large data storage, management and analysis technology, and the skill ofapplication and development large data, architecture design of large data,analysis and mining, and processing of large data, and talents for serviceindustries;

The major of health services andmanagement will cultivate talents in modern health management concepts, basicmedical, preventive and health knowledge to master basic theories, skills andmethods of health services and management, and use information technology andstatistical methods to conduct health management data analysis and research.The graduates are expected to work in health care institutions, physicalexamination center, health management consulting company and other enterprisesand organizations engaged in health consultation, health monitoring, healthassessment, health intervention, health education, health guidance, health riskmanagement and other relevant positions;

The major of medical imagingtechnology will cultivate talents in the basic theory and basic knowledge ofmedical imaging technology, standardized operation of medical imagingequipment, such as X-ray machine, CR, DR, CT, MRI, DSA, and other medicalimaging methods, medical image post-processing, and large data analysis, whocan provide the proper medical imaging technology of medical treatment forclinical practice, the operation of imaging technology and diagnosis of diseasewith images in all kinds of medical and health units in regional medicalinstitutions and health institutions.

Till now, a total of 28undergraduate majors have been established in our university, among which sevenundergraduate majors rank the top three in the comprehensive evaluation ofundergraduate courses in Liaoning Province.
