The morning of June 21st is special for the Class 2016 graduates. Dressed in their bachelor gowns and witnessed by their school leaders, teachers, and parents, they attended one of the most important ceremonies in their life—the graduation ceremony, and joined the last lesson in their university.

“Farewell, Neusoft. We are moving forward. Farewell, Neusoft. We are side by side, anywhere.” The MV We are Side by Side, Anywhere was composed by Neusoft teachers and students. When it was played in the auditorium A2-309, the familiar campus scene in the video and the college life described in the lyrics immediately evoked the Neusoft memories of the graduates.

Then, the host of the ceremony, Mr. Wang Weikun, Director of President’s Office announced the opening of the ceremony. President Wen Tao conferred the degrees on the graduate representatives, and the school leaders conferred the diplomas on the graduates.  

Graduate Zhang Bo from Software Engineering Department gave a speech on behalf of the Class 2016 graduates and expressed his deep feelings towards the alma mater and best wishes for the future. Li Yunping, mother of Japanese Department’s graduate Ning Yutong, delivered a speech as a parent representative. She expressed her gratitude for the four year’s cultivation of the school and gave her advice and expectation as a mother. The teacher representative Tian Huiyi, from Department of Business Management also made a speech. She said that when stepping into society, the graduates should prepare for failures, develop interests out of profession and keep progressing. All of the speeches were warmly welcomed and responded by applauses. The ceremony was warm and touching with sincere feelings and wishes.

Professor Wen Tao, President of DNUI delivered a speech at the commencement and expressed his earnest wishes. He said that the four years in college seemed as short as a flash and he was glad to see confidence, independence and growth of the students. At the time, class 2016 graduates were to shoulder their pack and set off for their career, switching their role from a student to a new career member. He hopes that the students can stick to their dreams, facing the reality objectively and dream sensibly, starting from scratch with their feet on the ground and combining the long-term dreams with the short-term goals, making constant self-improvement, and finally make the dream come true. He hopes the students can have the courage to bring forth new ideas and continue to hold and spread the university’s culture of innovation and entrepreneurship after their departure, creating their self-worth and social value in the development of times. He hopes the students can develop the habit of learning constantly, keep tracking of the new theory, new technique, new tool, new application and new product of the industry and field, and update their knowledge structure continuously. He hopes the students can keep a grateful heart, embrace the future with that grateful heart and spend every day of their life seriously.

Just like what President Wen Tao said, Dalian Neusoft University of Information is always the safe harbor, the gas station, and the firm backup of Neusoft graduates. The 3,583 graduates of class 2016 are from different cities and towns and they are now leaving for different places again. Together with the other 40,000 Neusoft alumni, they will devote their youth and power to the development of the society.
