On March 27th, “ChinaEntrepreneurship·Dalian”, the first demonstration project of ChinaEntrepreneurship by Torch Center, Ministry of Science & Technology inNortheast China, was launched in High-tech Industrial Zone, Dalian. “ChinaEntrepreneurship·Demonstration Project in High-tech Industrial Zone” wasofficially integrated into “Demonstration Project of China Entrepreneurship”.On the afternoon of March 27th, Zhang Zhihong, Director of Torch Center,Ministry of Science & Technology and fellow teachers visited StudentsOffice & Venture Office (SOVO) in DNUI. Chen Qing, Director of IncubatorManagement Division of Torch Center, Ministry of Science & Technology, Zhao  Jinghai, Deputy Director-General of Scienceand Technology Department of Liaoning Province, Shen Ning, Director ofHigh-tech Industrial Division, An Bangxu, Deputy Director-General of Scienceand Technology Bureau of Dalian, Wang Xiangyang, Director of Science andTechnology Start-up Division, Jin Guowei, Secretary of Party Working Committeeand Director of Management Committee of High-tech Industrial Zone in Dalian.Yuan Chi, Deputy Director and Cao Jing, Director of Start-up Center, etc. alsopaid a visit to our university. In SOVO, Deng Shan, Dean of School of Innovation andEntrepreneurship of our university introduced to the visiting leaders about theincubation mechanism, history of development, service mode, culturalenvironment and achievement of SOVO makerspace. President Wen Tao accompaniedthe guests to visit “Space Created by Art” in the exhibition area of innovativedigital arts works, and “Douhao” Company, a representative of start-upcompanies in SOVO. Director Zhang Zhihong positively praised the educational modeof innovation and start-ups, strong cultural environment of innovation andstart-ups in our university, and offered to add WeChat contact of Xiang Yang,the founder of “Douhao” Company. At the same time, the project roadshow andcomments were being carried out in SOVO space. The visiting leaders wereattracted to watch the vigorous performance of the start-up students.

In the kick-off meeting that morning, Director ZhangZhihong, Deputy Director-General Zhao Jinghai and Deputy Secretary-General YangDaigang attended and awarded the makerspace recorded by Ministry of Science& Technology. As one of the approved units, our university accepted theaward and officially became one of the first makerspaces integrated intonational management service system of science and technology business incubatorin Liaoning Province. Started from 2015, the SOVO makerspace of our universitypassed the preliminary examination and reexamination, and successfully passedthe final examination and stood out from over 100 units in Dalian this January.There were 362 units nationwide got recorded, of which 21 units were inLiaoning Province. From now on, our university will have the opportunity toenjoy the start-up preferential policies for the makerspaces from relevantdepartments, so that we could better provide support and service for theinnovation and start-ups and the students.

SOVO of Dalian Neusoft University of Information adaptsthe full process of incubation mode from “creativity” to “start-ups”.Presently, SOVO contains “Geek” innovation space, “Dream Factory” start-upaccelerator, and science and technology business incubator. “Geek” innovationspace mainly absorbs creative innovative teams, follows the industrydevelopment trend, creates the four innovation space stations of smart city,e-commerce, electronic information and digital media, and provides acceleratingservice for creativity to become reality. “Dream Factory” start-up acceleratormainly absorbs start-up teams which possess entrepreneurship and maturebusiness mode, keeps safe for start-ups till the last stage. Science andtechnology business incubator provides brick-and-mortar enterprises with apackage of services of business, technology, market, fund, talents, cultivationand law etc. In the past 15 years, SOVO has fostered 2800 projects, incubatedover 170 virtual companies, 63 brick-and-mortar enterprises, and the successfulincubation rate is up to 30%.
