On the afternoon of March 20th, DNUI welcomed a group of specialguests----nearly 50 little science and technology fans on the quality trainingcamp of New Business. They came toDepartment of Digital Arts and took a vivid virtual reality experiencing class.
Little reporters experience virtual reality with the aid of Miss LiTingting
Miss Li Tingting from theDepartment of Digital Arts of DUNI explained with language the youngsters couldunderstand the concept of virtual reality, its development, application areasand future development trends. Virtual reality glasses were provided to them Inorder to better experience virtual reality and artificial intelligence. Puttingon the glasses, they entered a virtual reality scene to experience the views,sounds and feelings. Little reporters were lost in the immersive programs likegraceful "flower sea of four seasons" and impacting “steepcliffs". Lovely animals appeared in these scenes and show various posturesvividly so as to interact with little reporters in response to their differentactions.
The sounding"fictional" virtual reality and artificial intelligence shouldprovide so many immersive feelings, which made little reporters reallyexcited.
"Considering the littlereporters' ages, we set some lovely images in the scenes on purpose. I am sohappy to see they are satisfied. It is really meaningful to popularize such newknowledge." said Li Tingting.
It was known that the contents shown in this experiencing class came fromthe course "Virtual Reality Technology" of which Li Tingting is thelecturer. Virtual reality is mainly about importing models made in 3DMAXthrough Unity3D game engine and interaction technology to convert 2D picturesinto 3D visual effects through virtual reality glasses.
"This course targets the junior students whomajor in digital media. Once the course is over, students should hand in worksbased on the requirements of the projects on their individual groups. All thecontents shown in the experience class come from our actual teaching." saidLi Tingting.
