At 10 a.m. of March 4th, 2016, the Educational CooperationSigning Ceremony of DNUI with Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press washeld at A6-326. The following leaders and teachers were present the ceremony,including Peng Donglin, President Assistant of Foreign Language Teaching andResearch Press, Du Hongbo, Dean of Japanese Department, An Yuguang, Dean of theBelt and Road Initiative Multi-language Service Center, Guo Quan, VicePresident of DNUI, Wang Zhengjun, Party Secretary of Japanese Department,Professor Cui Xianglan, Consultant of Major Development of Japanese Department,and other related teachers from Japanese Department.
At the signing ceremony, Guo Quan, Vice President ofDNUI, and Peng Donglin, President Assistant of Foreign Language Teaching andResearch Press delivered speeches respectively. Vice President Guo firstlyshowed his welcome to the visit of Peng and his team to DNUI. In addition, heplaced his hope in the cooperation with the leading press in terms of foreignbooks publishing. In his talk, he introduced the self-positioning, educationconcept and teaching characteristics of our school, and he also emphasized DNUIhad become one of 8 members of CDIO International Cooperation Organization inChina. We were positively building an Informationizationed, engineering, and standardized university, and we werelooking forward to applying our rich experience in project management and ITtechnology to the cooperation of language projects. Vice President Guo alsopointed out that we should take this contract signing as an opportunity topromote the cooperation and development of Japanese Department and ForeignLanguage Teaching and Research Press, and consequently propelled the projectcooperation in the fields of English and Russian. Finally, Vice President Guo wishedthe two sides could cooperate pleasantly and smoothly.
President Assistant Peng acknowledged Vice President Guofor his presence and speech in the signing ceremony. He also thanked DNUI’sstrong support and the great efforts from our Japanese Department for thiscooperation. He firstly introduced the impact of new media on Foreign LanguageTeaching and Research Press, and it was developing in the direction of digitalpress. Moreover, he showed his hope to cooperate with foreign departments ofhigh learning colleges, and utilize language + IT technology to set up theUPipus high learning colleges teaching platform, serving online learning forforeign language teachers and students majoring foreign languages and extensivelanguage learners. He emphasized that his company had substantive cooperationwith Japanese Department in terms of courseware and examination question banksin the previous period. He wished both sides could have a deeper cooperation inmore areas through the signing of the contract. At last, President AssistantPeng showed his expectation that DNUI could recommend outstanding “language + IT”talents for them and accomplished the building of Unicomm high learning collegeforeign language digital teaching community.
Then, the leaders of both sides signed the strategiccooperation agreement of “high learning college foreign language digitalteaching community”. The project of “high learning college foreign languagedigital teaching community” aimed to play the strong role of high learning collegesof foreign languages in China, and implement cooperation and exploration in theaspects of teaching contents construction, teaching models innovation, testingsystem building and implementation, teachers’ capability development and teambuilding, etc. It also aimed to study a feasible operating model, providing asound solution to the teaching reform development of foreign language teachingat high learning schools, which is based on digital education technology toeffectively promote teaching quality.
It is reported that Foreign Language Teaching andResearch Press’ cooperation with the Japanese Department of DNUI started from2010. And in recent years, both sides had growing cooperation in teaching resourcesdevelopment and teaching materials compiling. The signing of this strategiccooperation agreement was a symbol of new step for both sides’ cooperation.
