On the afternoonof January 10, sponsored by the municipal government and hosted by the City andSocial Council and DLTV, the Award Presenting Ceremony of 2015 Entrepreneur ofthe Year and Entrepreneurial Event was held in Dalian Radio and TV Center. CaoAihua, the Standing Committee Member of Dalian Municipal Party Committee,Executive Vice-mayor of Dalian, attended the ceremony. President Wen Tao wasawarded “Entrepreneur of the Year 2015”.

The host gave theaward presenting speech at the awarding ceremony. And then, a video clip wasplayed showing President Wen Tao's school building history and theaccomplishment of the school innovation and entrepreneurship education.President Wen Tao was interviewed by the host after accepting his award. Hesaid: “DNUI has set the objective of building entrepreneurial,practice-oriented technology university since the beginning of foundation in2000. With the development of Dalian IT industry, we have been very fortunateto pursue the dream of school-running constantly in the past 15 years. Webelieve that innovation and entrepreneurship education is the quality educationwhich should be open to all university students and lay the foundation fortheir lifelong sustainable development with an integration of professionaleducation. We encourage students to become a " Maker." But auniversity should be committed to train all the students to obtain innovativeand entrepreneurial thinking, consciousness, spirit and ability throughuniversity education instead of "becoming a boss". Whether studentschoose to find a job or start a business, all of the students can create their own value in changing times,which finally realize our educational value. ”
Adhering to theconcept of “Education creates the value of the students”，DNUI established SOVO Students EntrepreneurshipCenter in 2002 providing students with new platform for innovative businesspractices since its establishment in 2000. SOVO's existing venue is nearly7,000 square meters. More than 2,800 innovation and entrepreneurship projectshave been incubated and 170 Students' Virtual Companies have been set up, ofwhich 63 have been registered as corporate entities, covering fields of mobileInternet, e-commerce, smart cities, digital media, and creative culture. It hasattracted outside companies to establish entrepreneurship support funds of tenmillion yuan, and the total valuation set by alumni has reached900,000,000yuan; nearly 1,000 various cultural activities of innovation andentrepreneurship and training sessions have been carried out. In the era of"mass entrepreneurship and innovation", DNUI has deepened theinnovation and venture education which will be integrated into the entireprocess of personnel training. It also highlights the cultivation of innovationand entrepreneurship in courses, workshops, projects, activities and otherteaching sessions to help students realize the their values. DNUI also becomesthe venture model college of the education department of Liaoning and the firstcollege students' venture incubation demonstration base of Liaoning Province.
It is reportedthat with the theme of mass entrepreneurship and innovation this awardpresenting ceremony aims to review the entrepreneurial innovation event of theyear 2015 in Dalian and summarize the successful experience of innovation andhonor people with outstanding contributions. It helps to start a new journey ofentrepreneurial innovation in 2016 and set off a new upsurge and achieve a newleap forward. The Award Presenting Ceremony of Dalian Entrepreneur of the Year2015 and Entrepreneurial Event witnessed three stages of publicity, selectionperiod and award presenting ceremony. Finally 12 entrepreneurs of the year wereselected.
