Let’s Talk About Art! Post-80s Maker Wang Yitong Returning to DNUI to Share Her Entrepreneurial Experiences

OnOctober 29th, the first lecture of “Let’s Talk about Art”--was heldin Room A2-309, during which the post-80s maker Wang Yitong shared herentrepreneurial experiences.

WangYitong was an outstanding graduate from Digital Arts Department of our schoolof class 2010. She is a post-80s maker as well as the chairman of the board ofBeijing Young High Tide Media & Advertising Co., Ltd. Since the preparationof this lecture, it has attracted the attention and participation of thestudents from the whole school, who actively applied for the ticket andenrolled in the lecture from the Internet. The lecture was extremelyenthusiastic, and all seats were occupied. In the lecture, Wang Yitong recalledher entrepreneurial process, so that the students could understand theimportance to be down-to-earth, to innovate and to be courageous and smart.While there are several basic elements to start a business, those are a strongdesire, a goal to create fortune, a strong will, a rational thinking, anawareness of opportunity, and an adventurous spirit. We should have our owndreams and goals, which are the preconditions of all careers; we should endurehardships and be capable of hard work; we should believe in ourselves and nothold back when come across with the avoidable thorns and setbacks; we shouldhave the awareness of opportunity which are for those who are prepared; and weshould have an adventurous spirit, that is brave instead of ignorant.

Thistime, Wang Yitong returned to her alma mater with a set of “talents cultivationplan” to appreciate the cultivation and education she has got from here. YoungHigh Tide opened an employment platform for DNUI students, through which ourstudents could be interviewed for internship. The outstanding interns will havethe opportunity to become the executives in the company.

Inthe lecture, Liu Yin, a new actress of Beijing Young High Tide Media &Advertising Co., Ltd. set off another climax with her show. Together withtop-ten singers from Department of Digital Arts, she sang the anthem of DNUI“Dreams on the Road”. As a versatile actress, she also performed spectacularEnglish poem recitation with background music. At the same time, she shared herperforming experiences to explain that there were thorns all over the road topursue our dreams. But only if you dare to dream and act, there will be thepossibility to make it come true!

Whenthe lecture was coming to an end, Wang Yitong brought a little surprise, tosend at random 20 Young High Tide Mi Band customized for DNUI, which encouragedeverybody to be much healthier to devote to study and work, and to drivethinking by innovation, to drive employment by starting a business. 

Afterthe lecture, the students all expressed that they had benefited a lot from itthat they had had a new understanding towards innovation and entrepreneurship,and a further reflection on their future career. They would constantly keepstriving, make themselves perfect, improve their ability, and realize theirlife goals in the future life and work. Meanwhile, the students also realizedthat the innovation awareness and entrepreneurship were absolutely not only thestudents who wanted to start their own business to consider. Even if theundergraduates employed in other positions should also not forget the idea ofinnovation.

In addition, for betterimplementation  of innovation andentrepreneurship reform, the teachers from Film and Television Photography andProduction team and Animation team of Department of Digital Arts held adiscussion about the development of film and television industry, talentscultivation mode, major construction, innovation and entrepreneurship thinkingand so on with outstanding graduate Wang Yitong before the lecture. Secretaryof Party General Branch Mi Pingzhi, Vice President Zhang Mingbao and OfficeDirector Wang Xinming from Department of Digital Arts also participated in thediscussion.
