Neusoft Institute Held 2007 Autumn Oversea Students New Term Opening Ceremony

On September 7, 2007, 2007 Autumn Oversea Students New Term Opening Ceremony of our institute was held at Building A10 of the International Exchange and Cooperation Center. Present at the ceremony were NII President and Party Committee Secretary Dr. Wen Tao, Vice President Bao Hongkui, President Assistant Zhai Jifang and teachers in related departments.
At the Ceremony, President Wen Tao delivered the opening speech and proposed four-point wishes: Firstly, overseas students can understand Dalian, feel China and enrich experiences as they learn knowledge; secondly, overseas students can make full use of various resources of our institute, communicate with Chinese teachers and students, try to become friendly messengers of international cultures and make contribution to reinforce the international friendships. Thirdly, overseas students can realize their objectives at this stage of their life under the instruction and help of institute teachers.
Yang Lu, Director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Center, also introduced the organizational structure of the Center to the students and initiated the “International Students Culture Association”.
Leaders of many student associations of NII were also present at the ceremony and welcomed overseas students to join them. Student delegates showed arts of calligraphy and flower arrangement and acquainted the overseas students with the wide and profound Chinese culture. The whole ceremony was encircled with a dignified, warm and harmonious atmosphere.
Since September of 2004, the institute has begun to enroll Chinese-majored overseas students. Till now, we have established cooperative relationships with a few foreign universities including Korea Chungkang College of Cultural Industries, Russia Far Eastern State Technical Fisheries University, and held various forms of educational cooperation. Within this year alone, the number of overseas students studying in our institute reached up to 300 and they came from Russia, Korea, the United States, Japan, etc. The prosperous development in the work of overseas students has propelled our institute to make a great progress in our objective of internationalization and these new enrollment of overseas students has made our overseas students education step onto a higher level.
