Release time:2015-12-15
Modern society has higher and higher requirements for the talent training of higher education. Students’ comprehensive quality, creativity and knowledge structure have become important indices to evaluate whether a college’s cultivation is successful or not. Based on human-oriented and students-focused philosophy, cultivating qualified constructors for the society is the responsibility of all teaching staff. Now the college students have enjoyed the endless family care from primary to high school. Just as pointed out in the Five Conflicts of family education in modern society that excessive protection brings about the children's incompetence, excessive spoil brings about the children's mercilessness. Among the students we face every day, some students cannot reasonably arrange their spare time after class. For example, some students said, “I did what teachers told me to do in high school and I did what parents told me to do at home. But nobody tells me what to do at college, so I don’t know how to spend my day.” There are some students becoming disgusted and resistant to their counselors who urged them to do morning exercises and clean the dorms. The various problems and emotions that students showed warned that all teaching staff should understand them and take more humane care of them. Teachers should help and guide students in teaching, administration and other services in order to help them plan a better college life. College time is an important period to guide students to grow and create conditions for future development. Each class, each activity, is to train high-quality, innovative students with a reasonable knowledge structure. Faced with the diversification of students' personalities, demands, and interests, we are required to constantly cultivate the process of reform of the education model, change the traditional concept of education; to work continuously to explore effective methods of work, methods, means and mechanisms, and provide students with more opportunities and space to display their personalities and capabilities; and to help students harmoniously develop in the ideological and moral qualities, cultural quality, professional quality, physical quality, psychological quality and other aspects. The school’s rules and regulations should be conducted to the depths of the souls of students, and we should make sure that students’ study and life develop along a healthy track. All staff should understand, educate, influence, and shape students with heart and soul, intelligence, morality and care. “The nation thrives if youths thrive; the nation is strong if youths are strong.” Let’s shoulder the full responsibility of education.  (Wu Guiqin, Psychological Health Education Center)
