HP Explanatory Meeting of Recruiting 2008 Graduates of NII Held Successfully

On the afternoon of September 25, the explanatory meeting of HP Company Recruiting 2008 graduates of Neusoft Institute of Information was held in Room 602, library building. At the meeting, Mr. Zhang Yongli, Vice President of HP (China) Information Products Group and General Manager of Channel Cooperation Department, Ms. Kang Liping, Director of Human Resources of HP (China) Information Products Group, introduced HP's history, businesses and the specific matters of Neusoft Institute of Information recruitment. Vice President of the School, Professor Cao Yunfeng, and Directors of Department of Computer Science and Technology; Department of Information Technology and Business Administration; English Department; Branding and Strategic Development Department, Academic Affairs Department, Career Guidance Center, attended the meeting. The meeting was hosted by Wu Jianning, Director of the Branding and Strategic Development Department.
At the very beginning of the explanation meeting, chief of Academic Affairs Department and Department of Fundamental Courses, Mr. Zhang Tao addressed the present first. He expressed thankfulness to HP for offering our students an opportunity to IT enterprises on behalf of Neusoft II leaders, hoping to achieve a win-win cooperation between the school and enterprise. Mr. Zhang also hoped that the students who will be a member of HP will fully present their talent, offer good suggestions to the company, and showed the wisdom and capacity of Neusoft graduates.
Then, General Manager Mr. Zhang Yongli introduced the development history of HP, its development situation in China and culture to the 300 graduates present, and answered their questions. Ms. Kang Liping introduced the related information about recruiting the 2008 graduates. She pointed out this recruitment explanatory meeting is aimed to recruit marketing and sales talents and the candidates are 2008 excellent graduates who are the top 20 in Class Comprehensive Quality Evaluation without failure record in exam, outstanding English proficiency. 25 to 30 graduates will be selected to intern in HP and 20 of them will be employed and cultivated into sales mainstay in HP. They will be sent to the city of Shengyang, Changchun, Harbin and so on according to the business progress. The registration will close on October 10th. In the middle of October, HP will make an interview in Neusoft and select the students for internship.
During the interview, the reporter learned that HP not only paid attention to graduates’ marks of courses but also the comprehensive qualities of different aspects such as abilities of learning, organizing, communicating and practice; team work and creative spirit and moral notions. Ms. Kang Liping said, “We will select students by combining their four years’ performance at school not just their performance at the interview. On the spot, the reporter found many students were well prepared. A 2008 graduate named Zhang said she enrolled in an oral English intensive training class in summer vacation. We believe in the soon after interview she would pale others by her fluent English. This meeting not only attracted seniors but many juniors and sophomores as well. A student named Wang from class 06514 majoring in Software Engineering said “I want to experience the recruitment scene in advance though I am only a sophomore. In this recruitment explanatory meeting, I learned a lot, not only the employment trends and direction and goal of my study.
During the meeting, the students showed great enthusiasm for the recruitment of HP, numerous in-depth discussions in connection with the university study and position requirements were carried out between the two senior leaders of HP and the students. The students were deeply impressed with the excellent enterprise culture of the famous company and humanistic management and knew about HP further.
It is learned that Secretary of Party Committee in Neusoft, President of Neusoft, Dr. Wen Tao and leaders of HP reached a preliminary cooperation agreement as early as June, 2007. Then in August, promoted by Branding and Strategic Development Department, Academic Affairs Department and Employment Guidance Center, the cooperation was finally achieved.
Since its establishment, Hewlett-Packard Co. has covered its business scope in such fields as IT infrastructure, global services, business and home computers, printing and imaging, etc. and such industries as telecommunications, finance, government, communications, transport, energy sources, aerospace, electronics education and so on. The Personal Information Products Group, which came to our institute for recruitment, is one of HP’s main business groups. It is a leading provider of personal computing solutions in this industry, who has developed its business into some newly emerging services like providing commercial and consumptive desktops and laptops, workstations, handheld devices and personal storage equipment, etc.
