On October 18 and 19, co-organized by Academic Affairs Department and Branding and Strategic Development Department, HP job interview for NII 2008 graduates was held at Room 330 Building A2 as scheduled. Sixty NII senior students were interviewed by four experienced interviewers, including Ms. Kang Liping HR Director of HP Personal System Group. Finally, 30 students won the 2008 intern offer from HP Company. In this interview, all candidates were divided into 10 groups and every group had a one-hour interview. The interview consisted of two parts: during the first part, every candidate met the interviewer panel for 5 minutes alone, introducing himself and answering questions raised by interviewers; in the second part, every group discussed on the chosen topic and the interviewer panel evaluated all candidates according to their performance. Then, without the presence of candidates, the interview panel discussed and made evaluation on every candidate. During the interview, the excellent spiritual outlook bought great surprise to interviewers. They commented NII graduates as “good mannered talents who can keep calm in all circumstances and respond properly”. Most students had made careful preparation for this interview. For instance, Zhao Yuenan, majoring in Information Technology and Business Administration, made an impressive self-introduction which made interviewers couldn’t help remarking it as a poem; Mu Wenwen, from Department of Information Technology and Business Administration, won the interviewers’ hearts by beautiful calligraphy works; Lee, majoring in Computer, bridged his gap with interviewers by the words” I was born in 1984, the same year with HP China’s birth…” NII leaders and teachers had paid great attention to this job interview and teachers from many departments also came to learn experience from this interview. These departments included Human Resources Department, Academic Affairs Department, Branding and Strategic Development Department, Department of Information Technology and Business Administration, R&D Center. This interview made teachers and students get to know the talent selecting standard of world top 500 companies and experience the real talent selecting procedure directly and certainly would have great guiding significance on 2008 graduates’ job hunting preparation and practice-oriented talents training of NII.
