On October 17, President Wen Tao, Secretary of CPC Committee and President of Dalian NII, received the delegation of the Far Eastern State Technical Fishery University of Russia, headed by President Kim Georgy Nikolaevich. The two parties held a warm and pleasant talk. The talk went on in harmonious atmosphere. President Wen Tao expressed appreciations to FESTFU, on behalf of all the Chinese teachers that participated in the exchange project of this summer, for their hospitable reception and considerate arrangements. The two institutes reached an agreement on furthering this project and keeping it a regular program in view of the positive comments from the teachers of both parties. It is also agreed that the number of the participants should increase from 10 to 20, with more activities arranged in the program. With reference to the overseas students from FESTFU who are pursuing their studies in NII, President Wen said, “The executive departments involved had been making efforts to enhance the management to guarantee the excellent accommodation and study environment. Virtually, a majority of slow students were making progress, which strengthened our confidence about the prospect of our cooperation in Diploma Education.” “I am glad to see that our cooperation has been smooth and rewarding, and I am happy to have established such a beneficial partnership,” Now most overseas students from FESTFU are enthusiastic in the extracurricular activities, especially in the English Corner Activities, which helps a great deal to improve their English.” President Kim said. President Kim also expressed his willingness at the meeting to promote the cooperation between NII and the Far Eastern State Technical University of Russia. To initiate the cooperative project as early as possible, President Kim proposed a sincere invitation to President Wen Tao to visit FESTFU and FESTU this November.
