Education Cooperation with Korean Cheju National University

On the afternoon of November 16, a five-member delegation of Korean Cheju National University, led by Dean of the School of Interpretation and Translation and Director of International Affairs Center Kim Hee Ryul, paid a friendship visit to Neusoft II. The two parties signed an agreement on educational cooperation. Neusoft II Vice-president Prof. Cao Yunfeng and the International Exchange and Cooperation Center Director Ms.Yang Lu, also the presidier, attended the signing ceremony as well.
Prof. Cao Yunfeng addressed in the ceremony and signed the agreement of exchange students with Ms King. After that, the delegation paid a visit to the library, laboratories, SOVO (Students Office & Venture Office), classrooms and apartment of international students, accompanied by Prof. Cao Yunfeng.
The visit left both Ms King and the delegation deep impressions. When talking about the cooperation, she pointed out that young as it was, Neusoft II has developed rapidly into a professional IT college featured by Industry-Education Research-Partnership mode, which deserved their learning; while Cheju National University was a 55-year established comprehensive university with its disciplines highly amalgamated into each other. As a result of the distinct characteristics, the two parties were highly complementary and the cooperation would surely produce good results. She also stated that Cheju National University was now cooperating with over 100 universities across the world and Neusoft II as one of its cooperation partners would be an important one among them.
Korean Cheju National University was another prominent Korean university cooperating with our college, succeeded Korean Konkuk University. After signing the agreement, the parties would carry out substantial cooperation in all fields, particularly in international student exchange.
Introduction to Cheju National University
Cheju Island lies off the southwestern tip of the Korean Peninsula. Cheju National University, located in the center of Northeast Asia, was founded in 1952. As a top Northeast Asia university leading Cheju area towards internationalization and technology frontier, Cheju National University has attracted attention from home and abroad by its persistent pursuit of the truth, continuous innovation and positive exploration of unique and original teaching mode.
Cheju National University includes nine undergraduate departments and six graduate schools. The university has 9830 undergraduate students in 2007, 1,399 graduate students working for their Master’s or Doctor’s degree and a faculty of 282 working there. With its solid teaching facilities and competent faculty, Cheju National University is putting emphasis on the development of characteristic cutting edge and culture-related subjects in the fields of tourism, ocean, IT and BT, etc.
